Extras: The first extra was a blowbang bonus scene from All About Allie lasting 14:39 minutes that I reviewed below. Then came the 11:37 minute Blooper Reel, a lengthy photogallery, pop shot recap, & trailers. There was also the usual spam and Vivid offer via smart phone, but overall this was a nice selection of extras to appreciate.

Audio/Video Quality: Austin Powers XXX: A Porn Parody was presented in anamorphic widescreen as shot by director B. Skow for Vivid. There were multiple cameras used, a multitude of short edits, and the overall technical aspects were some of the best I have seen from Skow and his team to date. There also appeared to be conscious decisions made to emulate, with appropriate modifications, the original mainstream classic in a pornified sense, the company watermark not getting in the way for me. The special effects by David Meddings were kind of cheap but that was part of the way the project was handled in good fun, the editing by Fletcher Martin showing some care too. The audio was handled in stereo with some solid music, crisp vocals, and ambient noises, all blended in nicely.

Body of Review: B. Skow has long struck me as a seriously talented director, his works for Vivid often reminding me that porn can be entertaining as well as smutty good fun. While he has left the company to set out on his own, his legacy continues with a top notch parody called Austin Powers XXX: A Porn Parody. The movie is a parody of a spy parody series trilogy by SNL star Mike Myers, Tommy Pistol assuming the legendary role of super spy “Austin Powers” as he tried to thwart “Dr. Evil” nefarious plans. Unlike the original, this porn parody was allowed to show all the sexual stunts and boning in the six scenes, Tommy getting full billing in four of them. So put your mind on neutral and sit back for some fun, B. Skow’s latest parody release by Vivid was one of the best to date in the comedy genre.

The back cover stated it like this: “At the height of the swinging sixties, Dr. Evil plans to destroy the world. There's only one person who can stop him, the international man of mystery himself, Austin Powers. After Dr. Evil tries to have Austin assassinated, the plan backfires and Evil escapes into space. Austin has himself cryogenically frozen to await Evil's return. Thirty years later, Evil comes back to earth, Austin is unfrozen, and with the help of comely you agent Vanessa Kensington, (and four facials and bangin' four-way), Powers sets about trying to rid the world of Evil...Dr.Evil...yet again.” Here’s a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

The sex was strokable and had ample replay value to merit distinction as well but in terms of the overall package, I found this to be worth at least a rating of Recommended for those who want something more than a gonzo fuck flick. In short, Austin Powers XXX: A Porn Parody was a silly and full of mojo as the original trilogy from the mainstream so pick up a copy when it comes out later this month.
