The Movie:

This 2006 effort from Robby D and the Digital Playground contract players, Deeper 5, puts pretty blonde Jana Cova front and center (or at least the cover art would have you believe that though she's only in the first scene and a brief solo scene) in another film that, like its predecessors in the series, manages to really find that nice balance between harder edged straight gonzo material and some of the softer, more refined material that Digital Playground has been putting out by the likes of Celeste. As with the earlier entries in the Deeper series, there's no plot here, it's a simple series of sexual vignettes and nothing more, but as seems to be the norm with Robby D's material, it's nicely shot and as it is with all DP titles, the production values are top notch. In short, there's some effort behind the bumping and grinding and fucking and sucking and sometimes, as is the case with this title, it can make a big difference.

Here's a rundown of who fucks who and who they do it:

Scene 1 - Jana Cova And Alektra Blue: When this opening scene begins, the two lovely ladies are strutting their stuff in some slinky duds showing off for the camera. The hit the sheet and start making out and playing with one another and then bring out a glass dildo to play with. They use the toy on one another and suck on each other's tits a fair bit before taking turns eating one another out. Deeper 5 looks very good in this 1080p AVC 1.85.1 anamorphic widescreen transfer. There's an insane amount of detail present not only on the performers but also in the sets and backgrounds/sets used in the production. There aren't any issues at all with compression artifacts or edge enhancement while color reproduction and skin tones look excellent throughout. Eagle-eyed viewers may spot just a hint of shimmer here and there but you do have to be looking for it to notice it.

Sound:

The sole audio track on this Blu-ray release is a 48 kHz 448 kbps Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound mix in English. The audio on this release is fine but it isn't as impressive as the transfer is and it'd be nice to see (or hear, I guess) Digital Playground embrace lossless audio on their Blu-ray releases. Dialogue and music both stay clean and clear throughout and the levels are all properly balanced. The score's resonance and bounce sounds good and there aren't any problems with background hiss or distortion at all. The audio here won't blow you away but it certainly won't disappoint you either even if there isn't a whole lot of rear channel action worth noting.

Extras:

As seems to be the norm with their Blu-ray releases, Digital Playground has supplied only one real extra, and it's not a particularly exciting one and it's much shorter than usual clocking in at under five minutes. The documentary shows the cast and crew maxin' and relaxin' while not under pressure to perform. There are some reasonably interesting questions and answer sessions here with the cast members as the camera wander around the set, but it never gets too deep, instead it merely scratches the surface.

Motion menus, a bunch of Digital Playground trailers (in HD), a still gallery, contact info, and scene selection round out the supplements on this release.

Final Thoughts:

Deeper 5, like the earlier entries, is sexy, steamy and about as classy as modern porn tends to get. It's well shot, well light, and it features a whole lot of sexy women doing what we all want to watch sexy women do. Jana Cova could have had more screen time given that she is on the cover and all, but that minor complaint aside, this one is still worth a look. Recommended.
