I know I'm reviewing porn and I can't get carried away but let me share something with you anyway. I'm a family man and the idea of a housewife that's going to sleep around as soon as I head off to work doesn't really get my motor going. I'm sure there's some sport in it for the 'other guy' but Cheating Wives Tales #8 is played out from the girls perspective. I'm aware there's girls out there who watch a bit of porn themselves but let's not forget a majority of porn is aimed for the male audience.

And that's the first problem I have with Mario Rossi's production. All five scenes of this 'cut to the sex' style film are completely unimaginative and offer no variation between each scene. I know, I know. It's a porno and it's all about the sex anyway, right? I'm with you on that but why can't we get a little respect from the director at the same time? Despite the fact I'm watching to see some extremely gratuitous hardcore sex, I want to be able to tell a lot of attention was paid to detail.

I'll keep the rundown for each scene to a minimum as there's no real reason to rehash the same information over and over again. Even though there's no story to keep each scene connected (which was the intent), there's one thing that's consistent in almost every scene. There's either very little chemistry between the stars in each scene. It doesn't help that instead of taking their time to instill at least a little heat in their work, they just pound away like jack hammers. Too often I felt like I was concentrating on how most of the girls were thinking too much about what they were doing. I know the likes of Austin Kincaid and Priya Rai aren't newcomers to the porn scene, but I felt like there was some really amateurish work here and not in a good way.

Scene 1

Priya's husband is literally getting into his car in the driveway as she's on the phone looking for a booty call. What's a poor girl supposed to do when her husband is on his way to the gym anyway? Wearing a corset she pole dances for her secret man when he arrives. Tell me that's not an eye roller.

Priya looked like she was having a good time once in a while but for the most part, there wasn't a lot of effort on her part. Alex had a mug on his face that was similar to that of a caveman while he pounded away on her silly, and she completely overacted her part. I've seen people have to take control in the middle of a scene and say 'slow down', that's not a bad thing. I'd rather see a guy be told he's not sure of what he's doing instead of see a whole scene get flushed down the toilet. I'm not sure this is solely an issue that rests on the shoulders of Alex, since the direction didn't seem to care one way or another.

Scene 2

Adriana is driving around town when she drives by a handsome man who is homeless. His wife kicked him out so he's standing around with a sign looking for some help. Being the Good Samaritan she is, she takes him home to make him feel a little better. Has anyone seen the snooze alarm button? I'm going back to sleep.

The scene is all about sex after all, so a little passion and a lot of moving can help pull us out of this uncreative funk. Unfortunately Adriana overacts even more than Priya did in the first scene and Marco plays along. She talks dirty and likes it fast. The dirty talk is sort of a turn off though when she sounds like she's trying to convince the camera she loves it instead of genuinely doing so.

The end of the scene is a little confusing. Marco pulls out so he can cum all over her ass, yet he goes back in for a few more thrusts. It's a complete waste of a money shot! Finish inside or out and leave the confusion at the door!

Scene 3

Brandi has a flat tire and is in dire need of help. She calls up a friend and he's over in a flash. I'm assuming she doesn't have a lot of money because she ends up using sex for his payment.

I'm not stunned over the lack of originality in this scene. There's finally a scene worthy of saving though thanks to Brandi. She slows the pace down a little compared to the first couple of scenes and *gasps* looks like she's loving it! Jerry is a good match and the first decent male partner in this film. He doesn't look like he's a Neanderthal, and he isn't mindlessly railing Brandi like his life was in danger. Jerry pulled out to cum on Brandi's ass, and then goes right back in again. Another wasted money shot.

I wouldn't exactly say they have great chemistry in this scene, but they do well enough to stand way out above the rest. The smartest thing Mario Rossi did for this film was having her featured as the star!

Scene 4

Mike is a guitar teacher that shows up for a lesson, but Diana has no interest in learning how to pluck a guitar. She's got better plans for 'plucking' than that!

Diana doesn't outshine Brandi but she's definitely still a lot better than the girls from the first two scenes. Yet again there's not a lot of chemistry between the two people in this scene. Diana does immensely enjoy riding a cock though, and it's easy to see.

Scene 5

Stars - Austin Kincaid, Mikey Butders

Austin Kincaid is lovely and I'm familiar with some of her work. Unfortunately I just don't see her having a great time in this scene. Mikey and Austin has a great time when he's teaching her how to box in the ring, however her enthusiasm gets knocked out of her before the sex begins. At least at the end of this scene she swallows a tiny bit of cum. Without seeing the money shot throughout the entire two hours and forty minutes of the film, I felt like I was waiting for a big bang for it all to end on. I guess expectations are easy to disappoint. At least we got something, eh?

Extras

Behind the Scenes - I've seen some atrocious behind the scenes before. Fortunately this one is better than most of what I see director's slapping on a disc as bonus content, despite its short length. We get to see a few of the stars just sort of hanging out and joking around with each other having a good time. Best of all, and I hope the rest of you directors out there are paying attention, we have Brandi actually giving an interview where she's being herself! This is something that ninety percent of all porno is missing. You can forget about all the actresses that slut it up and continue to play their part for the camera behind the scenes. I want to meet the real person. Kudos goes to Mario for this. Hopefully Mario can continue to show us the real girls behind the scenes, and hopefully the rest of the industry starts to catch on.

Pick Your Pleasure is a great feature for anybody who has very particular tastes they feel like indulging in at any particular time. You can select whatever action you want: Tease, missionary, cowgirl, blowjob, doggy style, spooning, and cumshots.

Video

This is presented in a 16:9 format and the picture looks pretty average. You can see a lot of detail and the image is sharp. Seeing how this is high definition and all, I'm not sure why there's edge enhancement present. Another drawback is some minor digital noise in some of the darker areas of the screen and in a brief instant or two, some macro-blocking. The black level is fantastic but the colors never really pop. This is attributed to the 'home video' approach to the shoot. The color palette happens to just stick with looking natural. These issues are pretty minor but there's one question I have for the director. Why are the sides of the screen blurry? I'm sure this isn't an issue with the transfer. Weren't you paying attention?

Audio

There isn't a lot of music or anything else for that matter that would really give your surround system a workout. What's odd is that the editing of the source footage sometimes becomes a little more noticeable than it should. The sound cuts are noticeable at times, and certain scenes seem to have volume levels that are inconsistent with the rest of the film.

Overall

Brandi Edwards told us in the Behind the Scenes featurette that she's having a great time, and she hopes we can tell. Let me put your fears at ease Brandi because you did a fine job. Unfortunately the rest of the scenes lacked chemistry, good direction, and originality was completely absent with each scenario. It's almost insulting to think that directors feel they can continually get away with the same dried up premise time and time again. The video quality was decent but far from great, and the audio levels had me scratching my head from time to time. Brandi Edwards may be good at what she does but she can't save an entire feature. Do yourselves a favor and skip it.
