if you’ve been in the industry long enough, you learn one thing to be true – no mainstream media company is going to be fair and just and open-minded about our work in porn. It’s just not going to happen, no matter what they tell you.

This is a lesson a handful of porn performers just learned the hard way.  Lucy Hart had this to say about her experience.

I got asked to be in a movie about porn. I said I wouldn’t do it if it made us look bad. I was promised it wouldn’t, I was just playing one bad guy. It got bought by a24 and went to Sundance. I just watched it, and the central plot was a cheap shot making us look bad :(

I know how hard it is to make and edit a movie. Things don’t always go as planned, but the whole take away of the movie is basically “you’ll get really fucked up if you do porn” so WTF Meanwhile my wife, friends and I are thriving emotionally and financially in our industry.

Axel Braun had this to say about his experience in working on the movie “Pleasure.”

Director Axel Braun tweeted, “We all got duped into helping [Thyberg] make a movie that would have never happened without our support. But hey, ‘Pleasure’ was a hit at Sundance, and Ninja Thyberg got signed by CAA.”

“I was promised the same,” Braun replied to Hart about Thyberg’s commitment to treat the industry fairly. “Instead we got a shock-value cautionary tale showcasing in great detail the negative side of our industry and zero of the positive. I’m very disappointed to say that while ‘Pleasure’ may be morbidly entertaining to watch, Ninja Thyberg has failed us.”

“Pleasure” was shot over two years ago in the San Fernando Valley and included several real members of the adult industry. The director Ninja Thyberg claimed it would be a positive experience. That doesn’t seem to be the case.

The adult stars in the movie include Evelyn Claire, Zelda Morrison, Dana DeArmond, Chris Cock, Kendra Spade, Jason Toler, Mark Spiegler, Lucy Hart, John Strong, Aiden Star, Axel Braun, bill Bailey, Nathan Bronson, Mick Blue, Chanel Preston, Casey Calvert, Chanel Preston, Xander Corvus, Peter Warren, Steve Holmes, Abella Danger, Gina Valentina, Ryan McLane, Rusty Nails, Small Hands, Charlotte Cross and I’m sure many more names that I missed.

It’s sad that we have to say this but as we learn time and again, mainstream media isn’t a friend to our industry. They never will be – no matter what nice things they may say to our face.
