Sometimes Innocence Can Go A Long Way

I am flattered to be blogging here on XCritic with some people I consider good friends and some people I am a big fan of, some are in fact both.

I never take the adult business for granted, I feel lucky to be here. I was always a fan even back to the days when I would skip school and go rent VHS tapes from the local video store. Those were good times. Porn was so much different then. People like Ginger Lynn, Tori Wells, Paula Price, Nikki Charm (no one seems to remember her however) and Kaitlyn Ashley. Those girls were some of my favorites among others.

I got so into porn that I had two VCRs when I was in high school and I would record my favorite scenes for my own personal compilations. I think I had 60-plus tapes. My best friend in high school called me "The Porn King" and I took it as a complement.

Of course he was one of those guys who were embarrassed to rent porn, so he would come to me to borrow a tape. This continued for awhile, then I met a girl after high school and I got out of my porn habit because I was getting laid on a regular basis. Of course we would rent porn on occasions, but I don't remember what it was or who was in it because we never got through the entire thing. Good times indeed. Now that girl is in a loveless marriage, (perhaps divorced) with three kids. And I thought I was going to spend the rest of my life with her. Man was I naïve. It's hard to fathom now if that actually happened, I would have a teenage child now. Thank whoever that my sperm didn't take with her eggs.

If that was the case, I wouldn't own two businesses and be a freelance writer in the adult film industry. Sometimes I still see myself for the innocence because I learn something new every day in this business, hell I this life for that matter. I wonder what that girl would think if she knew I had porn star friends and what I do for a living. Hell I went to catholic school for 12 years and I am still recovering, and those hypocrites would puke if they knew what I was doing.

It's a funny thing, this porn gig; if people know what I do they don't mention it much because they would admit to watching porn. If they do mention it, they are cool with the porn business. Mostly when my friends in the non-porn world find out what I am doing they are fascinated. Hell so am I, and I am the one making a somewhat of a living doing this.

If you told me years ago when I was that horny teenager in high school jerking off to Nina Hartley that I would know her someday and actually get to talk with her, I would have never guess in a million years.

Sometimes I worry that I might be a name dropper and people on message boards might think I am a jerk. But honestly I am not, not at all. I am just amazed at what I am doing and who I know. I busted my ass for scratch or no pay at all for a couple of years to get here, and dare I say I am proud of where I am and where I hope to be going.

The porn industry gets a lot of bad raps from the mainstream right wings, and sometimes rightfully so, but for the most part, I have met some of the nicest people in the world in this industry, and some I can call my best friends.

Yeah, I'd say I am lucky and maybe I am naïve, but innocence can go a long way.
