Porn Valley Dispatch:(Re-)Tipping Amber Peach

I met the adorable Amber Peach on the set of "Cousin Stevie's Pussy Party" this weekend. She seemed innocent by comparison with the other seven performers, like Bethlehem in a Leonard Cohen song, but her road has been rough. "I don't dance much, because I'm a little awkward," Peach said.

Some porn performers come to the adult business by way of stripping, and then, with a few porn titles on their resume, can "feature" dance in clubs around the country. Many porn actresses talk about the icy receptions they get from "house girls" when featuring, because a feature dancer gets more publicity and is guaranteed money.

The working class hero motif is repeated around the country when porn performers come to town who might not have all the moves the hard-working house girls have, and that breeds resentment.

"I would slide down the pole and bump my head," she said, adding "I haven't featured yet, but when I was working in Alabama I just thought those girls were going to cut my throat."

And she told a story that chilled my blood: "There was a guy watching me dance who would take money out of my garter and then re-tip me with someone else's money," she said. "I had to hire a friend to come to the club and watch me dance all day and collect my tips."

This is the worst story I've ever heard. This sort of thing didn't even happen to Bob Seger!
