Is Snapchat Becoming An App For Porn?

While many people credit Al Gore for inventing the internet—chief among them being Al Gore—it was really the adult industry which made it what it is today. Sure, email and online shopping is great, but the internet is for all things porn, and now it looks like apps are heading that way. Snapchat’s new Snapcash micropayment system might soon be taken over by the porn industry.

In case you don’t know what Snapchat is, it really has nothing to do with chatting and everything to do with sharing pictures. You can take a picture, video, or drawing and then send it out to your friends who also have the app. Unlike a normal text with an image, the image only stays on your phone for a few seconds. Well, now you can pay for pictures of people. The porn industry has noticed, including porn star Brea Winter.

Of course, normal Snapchat rules apply and the pictures only remain on your device for a short of time determined by the person who sent the picture. Of course there are third party apps that allow to save a Snapchat image.

Winter is not alone, users looking for Snapcash are beginning to flood Snapchat. The creators of the app are a little worried that Snapchat will become the place to go for app-based porn trading. I don’t think they need to worry though; I’m sure Snapchat will just be one of many apps for porn, porn sharing, and porn trading.
