Porn Valley Dispatch: Being Simply Jimmy D.

From a studio in Sylmar, CA, which is separated from Porn Valley by the freeway and is therefore northeast of Los Angeles in the wasteland many call Not Yet Las Vegas, James DiGiorgio has put together an eclectic resume. Learn more about it after the gap.- G. Ponante

DiGiorgio is set apart from the small company of pornographers who also blog. The group, which includes Mike South, tends to employ equal parts self-promotion and self-deprecation, with a smattering of First Amendment zeal and a healthy distrust of the Bush II administration.

But in addition to the rent-making and check-cashing endeavors that fuel the gonzo market, DiGiorgio has branched off into talent management and acting as Their Man in Sodom for the evangelical groups XXXChurch and JC's Girls.

"I didn't change a thing about the way I do business or my character," DiGiorgio said, "they just liked me."

The result was a role in the documentary Missionary Positions, which detailed XXXChurch's attempt to win porn consumers to Christ, and appearances with JC's Girls, who are trying to do the same thing with porn stars themselves.

He has also joined with South, David Aaron Clark, and Eon McKai in the mini-fracas surrounding alt-porn.

But quite apart from all of this is DiGiorgio's glamour photography of porn stars and non-adult models. Capturing different sides of the likes of Cytherea, Kami Andrews, and Nicki Hunter than those available for common consumption, DiGiorgio proves his physical remove from the Valley was worth it.
