Ryan Keely Reviews: “Penthouse: Real Pornstars Of Chatsworth (3-D)”

Normally porn leads the pack in technology and media delivery systems, but with the financial effects of piracy deeply reverberating through porn valley we're falling behind and taking our cues from the mainstream.

Penthouse is the first major adult company to invest deeply in 3D technology. They started shooting in 3D back in the summer of 2010, amassing a large quantity of 3D content to be offered on their European 3D channel and on Penthouse.com. Now they're releasing 3D and on DVD and Blu-ray for those consumers lucky enough to have 3-D televisions.

Watching "Real Porn Stars of Chatsworth," I was blown away by how great everything looked in 3D. It's like when you saw and HD television for the first time: after you get used to watching HD everything else looks old. This fresh new technology is perfectly suited for porn. It's just too bad that this movie is pretty generic as far as porno goes. It's supposed to show the "real" porn stars of Chatsworth, but don't expect any actual insights into the lives of these performers. All of the interviews are scripted (with the exception of Sean Michael's excellent interview) and acted with the depth and skill one would expect from a porn performer.

However, if you do what most people do with porn films and fast forward through the "acting," you'll be rewarded with one of the few scenes Nikki Benz has shot since becoming Pet of the Year runner-up (a hardcore boy/girl with cutie Danny Mountain—who, for some reason, is wearing an elephant thong), as well as two scenes from Lisa Ann (one a girl on girl with Juelz Ventura, the other a boy/girl with Sean Michaels), two scenes from Ash Hollywood (a girl/girl with Ella Milano and boy/girl with Bill Bailey), and a steamy scene between Allie Haze and Xander Corvus.

My favorite scene, hands down, was Lisa Ann and Sean Michaels. Their scene is amazing. It's very sensual and the chemistry is palpable, with lots of foreplay, kissing, and breast worship before Sean Michaels buries his tongue deep in Lisa Ann's ass while he fingers her clearly dripping cunt to orgasm. Lisa Ann pulls his cock through the front of his trousers and sucks it with gusto. There's so much passion and chemistry between these two performers. I love that they take a moment to look into each other's eyes while enjoying some mutual masturbation. Eventually (not that I minded waiting) Sean Michaels fucks Lisa Ann slow and deep and hard in a variety of positions. So: very hot sex being had by people who know how to fuck, and who clearly know each other's bodies very well. This alone is worth the cost of entry.

My other favorite scene? Allie Haze and Xander Corvus. It was straight to sex with lots of making out. I'd never seen Xander before and he's really cute, and Allie is tall, all natural and adorable. And better yet, both performers seem really into each other. I don't think I've ever seen so much kissing in porno: Xander's face is always always attached to some part of Allie, kissing or nuzzling her. When he goes down on her, he gives her real head, not porno head—and it's clear that this is a man who loves to eat pussy.

I have to say, I love porno in 3D. Props to Penthouse for investing in a technology that is perfect for the product. I really hope to see a lot more adult content in 3D.
