Project2001 Photo

In the words of photographer Victor Ivanoski, "I photograph nudes mainly because I don't like clothing." Which is kind of like us saying we write about sex because we dig the font. Perhaps, however, this circuitous perspective informs the quirkily beautiful images by this Russian photographic collective: while nothing here is purposefully weird, it's just all a little off-kilter from the norm. We especially like Ivanoski's photos of a disembodied, text-covered breast and ex-psychiatric patient Nikolay Makaroff's portfolio showing "how this kind of madman sees the nude woman." (OK, so maybe things get a little weird.)A. Tolesco
