Waterproof Silky G

In recent times, I have been privvy to testing a line of toys from a new company, Evolved Novelties, and despite my initial skepticism about a porn manufacturer branching out into toys, from the very first test it struck me that they were dedicated to doing it right.  Considering the huge companies that they are up against, it makes me wonder if they can keep up the good work or if they will rest on their laurels any time soon, a quick look at production catalogs of recent months showing both companies are still in the game on multiple levels, providing quality gonzo fare for raincoaters all over the world.

Evolved Novelties is helmed by none other than Greg Alves, the man known for putting Metro on the map, starting up Zero Tolerance,
and more recently fighting asshat pirates successfully, winning a
multimillion dollar judgement.  So, why does Greg think he can carve
out a niche in an ultra competitive market dominated by the likes of
Doc Johnson, Adam & Eve, TopCo, and a few others?  First, he teamed
up with equally well known Gregg Alan, a guy you may know as the head
honcho at Diabolic(another favorite production company of mine) and the two took a
different approach.  Rather than go cheap with their toys, they decided
to take it slow and easy, using high end materials and quality testing
practices, resulting in toys like the Waterproof Silky G. This was my sixth toy from the company and while it was similar to the Desire, it seemed to be a bit less powerful to Nadine, my chief toy tester.

I was half surprised when I read
online that the two Greg's were not trying to compete with the big boys of
toys ("Alves says launching Evolved Novelties isn't an
attempt to compete with the adult toy manufacturers already on the
market. Instead, just as when he launched Zero Tolerance, he is simply looking for his own place in the market.") but given the three I was sent to try out,
they might be competing before long as the copycat syndrome in porn
production is even more rampant in the world of sex toys.

From his interview at AVN online:  "Alves says he doesn't intend to flood the market. "We did not cut any corners," he says. "All of our toys are quality-tested. We really tried to go as
high-end as possible, from the motors to the finish of the toy itself
and even the stones used in some of the jewel-encrusted vibrators. We
are only going to be releasing about six a month so we don't flood the
market. The first month, you're going to see a couple of toys from each
line we're launching." Though Alves and Alan are confident in the products that are ready to be unveiled,
they have taken a humble approach to launching the line.  "We're not
coming into this with a haughty attitude or acting like we know
everything," Alves says. "In the last few years, we've been learning as we've gone along,
but we've remained consistent in our commitment to put out the best
finished goods possible. Ultimately, if we don't listen to what
retailers want, we'll look foolish. We are trying to make something
different. We are trying to carve our own niche in the market without
directly competing with the other companies."

Measuring in at 7.5" tall and about 1.5" wide at the widest point,  this light pink device managed to generate substantial interest by my testing crew right away as it seemed to be a giant water pick to them, the guffaws drowning out my  attempts to establish order as they rolled about laughing.  The
version I received was light pink but it also comes in the power blue version too, preferences aside they are built on the same electronic template.  What set
it apart from other companies right away was again the cool packaging, a plain white sleeve
surrounding a nice silver metal case with foam inside, hinges holding the top
onto the body.  Having given plenty of toys out for Christmas,
birthdays, Valentine's Day, and other festive occasions has long worked for me as a host to female friends, the rewards numerous but the smiles on their happy faces just the tip of the iceberg.  The case had the usual cool company logo on it, serving almost as a way for those familiar with it to spot it from a distance but there is no mistaking the boxes they come in any more than the boxes that use them; a growing number of women are finding the whole Evolved line to be to their liking.

The Waterproof Silky G takes only two
AA batteries and unlike some of the other series, this
device is more about raw "focused" power than a focused set of pulses, serving as a larger form of pocket rocket with enough size to pleasure a variety of ladies in either side of their need (vaginal or anal).  This one was made of a harder form of plastic that some people don't like as much as the soft silicon style (Nadine greatly prefers the softer material but found this one to have a silky texture that she liked against her delicate tissues) but as she pointed out, the ridges adhere to her delicate vaginal walls much nicer than some of the smoother toys, potentially adding friction of the most favorable kind.

The tip this one comes to can be used to stimulate the infamous "G spot" or the prostate according to those who know about such things, making an ambidextrous device for both partners to appreciate.

After she left, I tested it to check the waterproof nature of the device
and it passed with flying colors, the controls on the bottom of the toy
being a simple push button that was easy to control. The "O" ring kept water from
destroying the electronics and it was quite easy to clean, making it Recommended given how it was made of a material she was  less fond of even if the controls gave her more confidence that they would remain contamination free.  This was another toy that looked like it might be more powerful, much like the Desire, but was not, at least the batteries lasted longer for the diminished return of the device.  As far as the material being so hard or the pulsations being weaker, it was still a class act worth looking into, the retail price varying but well within acceptable parameters for modern sex novelties, perhaps cheaper if you consider the build quality over some of the delicate toys on the market.

If the Waterproof Silky G is any
indication of things to come, I suspect both gentlemen will be making
more money from toys than their award winning movies (though I hope
they continue to provide both).  For the record, this was part of the
"Fleur-De-Lis Edition"  line and it was made in China for the socially conscious
but you'll want to stock up on extra batteries while experimenting since it is so soft to the touch that your gal pals will want to use it more often.  The rest of the tech specs were found in our
forums as follows:

Lastly,
it mentions it is RoHS compliant which essentially means the device is
free of many specific health hazard chemicals, this from the RoHS
website in the EU:

The definition and aim of the RoHS directive is quite simple. The RoHS
directive aims to restrict certain dangerous substances commonly used
in electronic and electronic equipment. Any RoHS compliant component is
tested for the presence of Lead (Pb), Cadmium (Cd), Mercury (Hg),
Hexavalent chromium (Hex-Cr), Polybrominated biphenyls (PBB), and
Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE). For Cadmium and Hexavalent
chromium, there must be less than 0.01% of the substance by weight at
raw homogeneous materials level. For Lead, PBB, and PBDE, there must be
no more than 0.1% of the material, when calculated by weight at raw
homogeneous materials. Any RoHS compliant component must have 100 ppm
or less of mercury and the mercury must not have been intentionally
added to the component. In the EU, some military and medical equipment
are exempt from RoHS compliance.
