Sex toys have been all over the news lately with some states, including the Lone Star State of Texas, finding goofy old laws regulating their sale to be unconstitutional. While store clerks all over the place are breathing easier, the difficulty of finding just the right toy (or selection of toys) to work for an individual is almost as difficult as picking a movie to watch with your partner. Let's face it, sex toys come in all shapes, sizes, and materials, many of them made for artistic effect over the practicality of getting off. One type of material that has been becoming more popular in the production of such toys is glass. So many other materials are susceptible to germs and prove difficult to properly clean so this newfound appeal of an age old material is promising to fans of the high end market most of these are made for. That made the Heart's Delight dildo all the more interesting to review for my partner and I.

Made of a material called "e-glass", the hand blown toy advertised that it was designed to withstand extreme temperatures without cracking or breaking as some forms of glass do. It went on to say you could place it in icy water or even microwave it in short bursts to heat it up, warning users to be careful since the human body, especially the areas such toys would be going into, are not as durable by comparison. The technical name for the material the dildo was comprised of was called "scientific-grade SG-1 Borosilicate" making me think it was related to a popular science fiction television show or was at very least made in Canada. Some testing with the temperatures did show that the dildo could withstand both hot and cold without a problem, even going from one extreme to the other with no problems. It even warmed up to body temperatures very quickly, a gimmick that Adam & Eve/Topco Sales should push more since other such toys are not nearly as usable this way.

The dildo itself was about seven inches long, curved with a bigger bulb on the end, and had a heart shaped handle designed as much for aesthetics as for the use of two fingers. The gentle cure helped it with stimulating the grafenberg spot (G-Spot) with less guesswork too, the thickness of the usable portion (in terms of insertion), being 5 inches long to the handle and an inch or so thick with the bulb about 35% thicker. The package came with a little container of lubricant (which wasn't needed at all!) and a red velvet sleeve for storage too. The use of the toy was simple enough, it was merely a dildo after all, and I could feel the bulb hitting Nadine's sweet spot causing her to gasp in pleasure. Unlike similar toys that cost a whole lot more (some of the colorful ones are well into the hundreds of dollars), this one was very solidly built and worked like a charm.

The only problem we encountered is one indicative of all glass toys, the possibility of breaking it. I appreciated the warning on the package that mentioned the specialty glass was able to withstand light bangs and reasonable drops but as luck would have it, the toy fell off the bed onto my slate floor. A three foot drop would have shattered a lesser toy or one made out of more traditional glass but the Heart's Delight merely chipped three small pieces from the base of the handle, not effecting the direct use of it if you are careful but still nearly causing Nadine to cry. There were a few glass shards too but again, it warrants mentioning that as safe as such toys are from infection thanks to easy cleaning and a lack of irritating ridges where pieces meet, they are all susceptible to the possibility of damage by people that are not especially careful. I doubt a fall on a traditional carpet or wooden floor would have had the same effect, it was that sturdy, but it is something to keep in mind when playing with such toys and I admit that I wish I could have tested it more than I already did so I rated it as Recommended. If you're thinking of experimenting with glass toys, this should prove to be a really solid first choice, Nadine thinking it was worth an even higher score.
