It’s funny but most women I’ve known love sex toys but are dead set against anything that “looks weird” poking into their private areas (except for a few adventurous souls) so when I picked up the baby blue Briana Banks Squiggles to review last week, my first concern was finding one of my test assistants to embrace the design of the oddly shaped toy. I admit that my pool of potential applicants is limited these days so with Nadine offering to give the toy a run for the money, I was all set to see if it could deliver the goods. The package advertised on the side that: “No one grinds, squirms and rotates like Vivid Superstar; Briana Banks and she's designed a toy to match. It’s a 100% pure silicone sleeve, with a powerful, long lasting Japanese motor. And all at the push of a button. Go ahead. Make her squirm. Squiggles™ only from Doc Johnson.” The box was a see through model where the unique features of the toy could be displayed along side a sexy picture of seductive contract hotty, Briana Banks from Vivid Entertainment wearing black lingerie.

The Squiggles measured 9 inches long but only six of those inches were insertable, the diameter amounting to 1.5 inches at the widest spot of that length. The silicone sleeve the advertising was so proud of was soft to the touch, yielding but not as soft as many other vibrators on the market; the incorporation of the much harder:”velvet touch” material used on the base alone. The device takes three AA batteries that power a dual set of motors to give pleasure with; a vibrating bullet located at the tip of the toy and a reversible rotational aspect that allows it to grind in two directions (fairly unique these days). The batteries were still running three hours later when both the vibrator was left on high and the rotational device was activated so you’ll also get some fuck for your buck. The advertising on the cover also makes it clear that the toy is non-toxic and Phthalate free for those of you worried about getting toxic coochy syndrome; Doc Johnson taking the lead in the field these days with tested materials.

The controls were on the base and consisted of four buttons that could be pressed; two of them controlling the vibrations and the other two controlling the rotation with a push of the button. The inability to adjust the vibration to a specific level (either high or low is what you get) or the speed of the rotation might upset some of you but the slow goodness was definitely making my assistant happy. With most stores selling the toy for ~$70, it really seemed to lack in controllable options yet the quality of the device was evident from the first moment it was turned on. While substantially more expensive than the Sensual Curves toy I just finished reviewing, the quality of workmanship was higher as was the replay value from what I could see. Nadine was able to work it by herself without much of a learning curve but it did seem fitting for a couple to use as well; the specific settings depending on what works best for the lady.

The firm but yielding nature of the toy was just right for her and for those of you into advanced sexuality, I suppose it could be used for anal sex too though keep in mind to use a silicon based lubricant to extend the life of the sleeve as it is irreplaceable. I found it most effective when I paid close attention to how certain combinations felt to her too, her eyes lighting up at the way the grinding action was getting her off even when I tried using it without the vibrational aspect (experimentation is always a part of good bedroom behavior once you establish limits). The ease of use was high for one or two partners though and Nadine was fucking herself silly with this one, screaming out loud more than once and telling me that she found it Highly Recommended. Unlike the Sensual Curves toy though, this one does not claim to be water proof so use caution around wet areas (the battery case was secure enough but less than careful use might result in damaging the toy with the moisture inherent in such endeavors. I admit that the couple’s aspect of the toy appealed to me a lot too (a lady can use the toy by herself but it’s more fun with a partner according to her) so it also earned Don’s squeal of approval as a toy for partners.
