Charmane Star was born in the Philippines, but when she was two, her family moved to California, where she has lived in several cities. The youngest of nine children (She has seven brothers and one sister!), Charmane enjoys having a large family because although they may not like what she does for a living, they still love her for who she is as a person. Charmane got started in the adult industry when she was 18 by modeling for adult magazines, like Hustler, but that eventually led to making adult movies. Four years after making her first adult movie, Charmane left the adult industry to manage a night club with an ex-boyfriend in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. During that time, she also did solo photo shoots and worked at Nordstrom as a sales girl. She returned to the adult film industry in 2003 after deciding that managing a night club was much more difficult that working in adult films, and in addition to her films, she also opened a website. In 2004, she followed the route that most female performers take and began dancing in strip clubs.
