Audio/Video Quality: Excellent on both fronts. The version I watched came from an advanced, online screener and seemed to be shot in 2.33:1 ratio and presented in a 16:9 format. That means it has black bars above and below the picture. There's also a catchy music track by Pilotpriest that kind of makes you want to bounce around in your chair or at least bob your head.
Overview: This is the 3rd epsiode of a new series from Girlcore which is a new project for Gamma Entertainment. Set circa 1987, this is a tale of a mousey office worker (O'Neil) that is at the beck and call of her overbearing employer (Fawx) 24/7. April really has no initiative to go above and beyond to further her station in life and Alexis has been seemingly scheming to change that fact, to help April better herself but more importantly to achieve some self-satisfaction by having her assistant get her off one way or another.
It's a tale of deceit and coercion by an employer, something that is in today's headlines daily reflecting how "things were back in those days" according to many of the accused whilst being absolutely denied by others. It may not sit well with some audiences, so be aware of that going in.
Scene: Alexis Fawx, April O'Neil
April gets called into the office in the middle of the night, seemingly to retrieve some memo that is on her desk. She arrives as quickly as she can, a bit disheveled as she was fast asleep when her sticker-laden slimline landline woke her. Her boss, dressed in a revealing white outfit that looks like it might have come from the Miami Vice wardrobe department doesn't say much at first, just sits at her desk, glaring like an evil mastermind about to unveil her plan to take over the world. April stands there, cowering but unwavering, awaiting orders which Alexis finally gives to her, telling her to forget the memo she came to retrieve because they are going to start from scratch.
Over the course of the next few minutes, April starts to realize that her boss has more on her mind than memos being typed out on a floppy-driven word processor. While April sits at the processor, typing (not fast enough for Alexis' taste), Alexis paces, glares, and hovers. It made me feel as uncomfortable as April looks the entire time. When Alexis starts in on how unpresentable her assistant is, the tension builds and is not relieved when she starts painting April's lips and toes in order to pretty her up. The tension is palpable when it progresses to April having to take off her Danskins and don a dress in front of her employer. She's forced to strut around for a bit and then it's back to typing, except this time she has to do it while Alexis kneels below her in an effort to bring her to orgasm.
At some point, Alexis' outfit is no longer on her but under her, although we never see her taking it off as she fingers and tongues her assistant. The action moves from the swivel chair to the desktop, and back again, things getting naughtier and more intense but neither performer ever breaking character. Alexis is still a stern bitch, April, a scared and mousey assistant who is just trying to make it through the tasks at hand. After the intense encounter is over, April lies on the desk naked trying to catch her breath while her boss leans back, seemingly satisfied.
Final Thoughts: This is part of the latest project from Girlcore, a new Gamma Films endeavor. Like Pretty Dirty and Pure Taboo before it, it pushes boundaries in the modern adult cinema world, bringing the performers new acting challenges and audiences into uncharted erotic waters. Will it find an audience? I'm sure it will. One thing about Gamma is that they have a legion of hardcore fans that are constantly conversing with team members about new ideas and challenging them to push the envelope even further.
Alexis and April are both superb in their roles here and the tech team actually manages to convey the tensions to the viewer so well that you want to take out a pocket knife and see if you can actually cut the thick air (Well, I did anyhow). Matt Holder leads his team of photographers, Craven Moorehead and Curious Judas, doing a great job of making sure that they not only capture the action expertly but also capture every single carefully chosen and placed prop that reinforces to the viewer that this is a 1980's period piece.
Once I got it into my head that this was going to be a girl on girl flick along the lines of a Pure Taboo theme, I settled back and watched the film for the filmcraft rather than for an arousing experience. Sure, I like to watch Alexis and April romp together as much as the next person but this storyline had too much of a creep factor for me to be aroused by it. I suspect that exact thing will be a turn on to many others and that's okay with me. Whatever floats your boat. I don't see this one getting a lot of replay in most households and since it is originally designed as a webisode for a member-driven site I think that's how most viewers will check it out. It's Recommended.
