Burlesque Story – Episode: 1, A

Of all the wonderful “indie” films being produced and released, none have excited me more than Kay Brandt’s three-part series A Burlesque Story. Lust Cinema brings you one of the most well-oiled marketing presentations that I have seen in 2020. One look at this trailer that features very little skin and a shit ton of wicked dance moves is all it will take to have you contemplating that thirty-five dollar price tag that is being dangled in front of your loins like a carrot to a tortoise. There are a few constants in this industry that usually always spell success and one at the top of the food chain is with director Kay Brandt and superstar Cherie DeVille. Since day one these women have clicked and left a trail of sweaty, worn out men and women looking for rest and re-hydration after each film presentation. Any true fan of this business will be intrigued from second one when you notice that the best feature dancer in the modern era is the lead character for a story about burlesque, well anticipation and curiosity will get the best of you. That is where I step in to say if the leap of faith based on such visual splendor is worth it? The line-up also consists of the best of the best sex on film has to offer. Romi Rain, Lance Hart, and Charlotte Satre. Actors to the fullest extent. Fuck waiting around people, let’s take a dive right in at the deep end of the pool.

If that trailer was not enough to take you into another realm of thought, the flashy music, and dance of a true seductress, that seems to take place in a world so real and so bold will and I am talking in a microsecond. The art of romance is far from dead. Kay Brandt simply puts a chameleon's skin upon it when we are introduced to lovers going through fond memories of conversation, passion, and togetherness. If you have never seen a Kay Brandt film, “soft” is far from what her vision of romance has always been. She has the ability to allow music, editing, and thought to become a potion that allows the viewer to behold things they may not even know exist in erotica and storytelling. If this is your first Kay Brandt experience know that five minutes will feel like twenty in a good way. That is the world Kay always sends the audience into, and when we catch up on two lovers loafing in bed that is exactly how you feel. I think far too often we do not appreciate the reality of what erotic cinema presents. Cherie and Codey wake each other up the old-fashioned way and you are left reeling with more than a few questions as you see Cherie get a true to life “rise” out of her man. I think nothing is more alluring than watching a woman invoke her lover and my, oh my, did Kay do it well here. 

The Encounter: 

Almost every single performer in the land of fantasy we call porn knows how to go from zero to nasty in a heartbeat. It does not take much. What takes the most rare of abilities is to go from zero to sixty, kick things into erotic overdrive, and have your nasty acts in bed look as heavenly as a stained-glass window. That is Cherie DeVille. She has that ability to become every type of character there is and where she takes you here is on the ultimate ride of ecstasy, and it comes at you from out of nowhere. These two performers lay it on thick, and we see that Kay wants to show fans yet another few of that connection between two people. The editing and camera work allows you to be thrust into every heart skipping moment of lust and romance. That shot of Codey and Cherie looking deep into each other’s eyes on more than one occasion will be noticed by even the most staunch critic of adult films with a story. The sex has you take notice. Hell, some fans should be keen enough to take notes, that is how real this encounter is. The back and forth between these two stars is something to behold. Once we finally get into aggressive waters there is still that heart-pounding romance, reality and unity. The only way you can describe the sex is that it is two lovers losing each other and then finding one another over and over again. Every aspect of the sex is five-stars. A scene that ends in snuggling is so hard to create in this business and Kay Brandt pulls it off beautifully. I do not know how she does it. This is a true to life piece of entertainment gold. You want to find out more from these characters and the sex stays mysterious enough to keep you planted in your seat and does not go overboard in any way. I love that the sex is not the end of the episode. This is sex for those who want to see real life passion and paradise.

Sight and Sound:

The editing in this chapter of the series is damn near perfection. What has to be the most epic aspect of post-production is how everything syncs as if everyone and everything is intertwined. The music in this production is wonderful. This is a real cinematic experience. Kay Brandt goes above and beyond, from the footage of a beautiful Los Angeles to start the production, to how she makes each set come to life and pulsate with this vibe of reality in every corner. Kay Brandt is a true artist and you see it in the hats that lie around her beautiful sets and the way that everything is as soft as can be when we see two lovers look to become one. When you see a film with this lengthy amount of credits and trust me, there are few that do, you get to know exactly how you were taken to another realm of reality. It is due to many labors of love and a precision that went into this series' creation. Kat Brandt is a woman who has a style like no other and this new entry into her filmography just shows how massive that mind of creation and creativity really is.

Don Juan’s Bottom Line: 

No matter who you have came to see, you have never seen them the way that Kay puts them on display. Cherie DeVille fans have never seen something this real or this moving. For all of those people who say there is no glamour, class, or beauty left in an industry that deals in sex and story, Kay Brandt and Lust Cinema prove them wrong. You could literally classify this scene as something that shows a weary lover a few tricks of the trade, as well as offering something that seasoned lovers will adore as well. Fans of story will love that the sex does not end the chapter, there is far more to this than you can imagine. It takes powerful acting to accomplish such feats and Kay’s chosen few are able to do just that. The light is shed on a woman who is not able to keep a relationship going, who is looking for some real-life answers to losing her love and remembering what everything was like with the puff of an unlit cigarette. The acting is great. Cherie DeVille is able to convince the audience to stay in their seat after one of the most realistic sex scenes ever recorded. I have to say that this episode will please the female fans of the XXX world in so many ways. It has so much art and beauty within it. Kay Brandt has a mission, and that is to take us into the land of burlesque and getting to watch Cherie DeVille dance for the masses is a sight that has not been seen by another soul in a few years. In case you never got to see what a show this superstar can put on, Kay sells you a ticket at a price worth every dollar and cent. The end to this chapter is epic, it has you geared and ready to step into chapter two anxiously. This dance of seduction, power, and sophistication takes the scene to Highly Recommended territory as this may be something you never get to see again. Leave it to Kay Brandt to capture pure magic, bottle and freeze it in time forever.
