Audio/Video Quality: Big Wet Asses 19 was presented in the usual 1.78:1 ratio anamorphic widescreen color as shot by director William H. Nutsack for Elegant Angel using the standard definition MPEG-2 codec with 480p resolution. The lighting was good as expected and helped minimize the grain & video noise, the sharp clarity of the production beating out some of the high definition blu-ray titles released by the competition. The composition of the shots always favored the ladies, rarely chopping off their heads in a frame or missing out on significant portions of the action. The editing by Robert Laplanc was very polished this time, an enhancement I enjoyed enough that I had to consciously look to see any errors. I saw no compression artifacts although the bitrate varied substantially, often seeming to be in the 4.8 Mbps range. The audio was presented in the usual 2.0 Dolby Digital English using the 256 Kbps bitrate (and 48 kHz sampling rate), the separation was nonexistent and the dynamic range limited but at least the vocals could be heard most of the time (as could some background noise). The music from Mybeatshop and the company archives were solid enough for the scenes themselves too, the work put forth for the combined technical aspects a notch above many others in the field.

In terms of the Blu-ray upgrade, I was lucky enough to score a copy of that one too, the visuals certainly standing out yet again (not just the higher bitrate or resolution but the color balance and little details that high definition gets when a company doesn’t try to cover them up like a few do so often) so spend a few extra bucks to get that one if you are equipped for it.

Body of Review: William H. Nutsack is one of the very best gonzo directors at Elegant Angel, his reliance on strong lighting and sticking to the basics as important as the casting decisions that make so many of his works worthwhile. His latest flick sent to me for review is Big Wet Asses 19, my appreciation for the amounts of oil used, fetching ladies, and minimalist approach to capturing them in action reminding me why I routinely sing his praises. While the series has advertised heavily regarding providing a lot of “first anal” scenes, the best scenes almost always come from seasoned anal lovers, the superb casting this time including such hotties as cover babe Kagney Linn Karter, vivacious Liza Del Sierra, and cutie Ally Kay (in her first anal). The company website said this of the show: “Big Wet Asses, the winner of AVN's coveted Best Anal Themed Series award for 2006, 2007, & 2008, is back! Elegant Angel is delighted to announce that porn superstar Ally Kay, stars in her 1st anal scene. This is the 19th edition of the critically acclaimed series, alongside another stellar assemblage of voluptuous superstars. Kagney Linn Karter and Briella Bounce share their second anal scene. Despite being placed with a male not at the top of the food chain, Kagney did an exceptional job here, her beauty always having been her biggest selling point over pure sexual skill or chemistry. She looked leaner than I recall ever seeing her, once on the couch with Ramon she had on a purple fishnet top and black thong. He worked her over orally and her clean shaven snatch was as inviting as her perfectly clean ass, both of them fingering her perfect pucker before some vaginal sex and anal by Kagney was displayed. She did some taste testing and while not as active a rider as Ally, few could argue that her fine curves were not perfect for the show. Another thing I liked about Ava was the positive attitude she projected throughout the scene, clearly demonstrating her desire to be there giving her all in a wonderfully strokable fuck flick. The superior technical values, heated sexual trysts, and highly strokable material helped this volume stand out from so many releases by the competition, the show always one worth picking up year after year. In short, Big Wet Asses 19 was the kind of fuck flick bypassing all the parodies on the market and pretentious “arty farty” releases, the gallons of oil, the seductive teases, and the hammering hardcore sex such that it stood out yet again in no small part thanks to the direction and cats of babes including Briella Bounce, Ava Addams, Ally Kay, Liza Del Sierra, and of course, Kagney Linn Karter.

The high definition Blu-ray version of the show was well worth a look as well, the visual upgrade enough to enhance the already solid lighting and details well beyond that of companies focusing more on quantity of their hi-def output rather than quality. Elegant is one of the few companies to do high definition right in terms of enhancing the look of the action rather than worry about covering up contract performer flaws so you will see that leaning in the Blu-ray version if you give it a chance.
