Extras: The best extra was the 22:13 minute long Behind the Scenes feature since it showcased the ladies getting ready (with popular Julia Ann doing makeup). I would have preferred more sex footage but there was so much during the movie that seeing the ladies getting ready was a decent bit too. There was then a photogallery, a popshot recap, four trailers, and a company website to check out.

Audio/Video Quality: Anal Playground was presented in an anamorphically enhanced 1.78:1 widescreen color the movie was shot in by director Jules Jordan for Jules Jordan Video in the MPEG-2 codec used for standard definition releases (in 480 resolution). There was some variation in the lighting that added additional grain but I saw a few other issues as the camera kept an active stance at providing the best angles to showcase the ladies. The editing helped in this endeavor too with a movie as long as this one needing extra care to make sure that there is enough tease but also heated sexual antics, my initial impression being that this was a well rounded romp where virtually all the cast had a lot of fun. The bitrate was on the modest side yet there were few compression artifacts, the aliasing minimal and given the length of the single disc offering (still clocking in with nearly enough material for a double disc though), fans of gonzo scenes should be pleased (even if the scenes did not look as refined as the usual output by Jules). The bitrate hovered all over the place this time, higher than usual with most of the movie in the 4.2 Mbps range, but varying across the board depending on the scene, a company watermark observed in the lower right hand corner of the scenes. The audio was presented in a 2.0 Dolby Digital English (at 192 Kbps with a 48 kHz sampling rate) offering that really didn't use any separation in terms of the vocals (there was some potential to do so here too). The dynamic range was also kind of generic, but the visuals have long ruled in most of Jules' past works too.

Body of Review: Jules Jordan and his company, Jules Jordan Video, are among the best known gonzo producers in porn these days, his best works almost impossible to beat by the vast amounts of mundane gonzo on the market. Jordan includes a lot of tease footage and generally scores the very best talent working so you can almost count on a strokable hit every time he comes to bat. Fans of his have also shown a liking to his spin off project called “The Ass Factory”, the idea being that all scenes contain anal action (for the record, I am not a devotee of anal so much as a movie containing what it advertises). His latest single disc release is called Anal Playground, the quartet of hotties including Holly Michaels, Trinity St. Clair, Bibi Noel, and fleshy assed Jada Stevens. Seeing as how The Ass Factory branch of the Jules Jordan empire is dedicated to all anal extravaganzas, I was confident that this one would be full of strokable fun, my preference for pussy not getting in the way of watching solid anal scenes by ladies having a good time. Here’s a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Scene One: Holly Michaels, the plaid shirt cutie with the sweetly shaped booty seen on the lower left hand corner of the front cover, was up first with Mark Ashley, the stud a recognized talent in porn for getting things done. As one of the newest ladies in porn doing anal, the spunky little cutie seemed to have an awful lot of skill for a newcomer. In terms of pure sultry looks and body shape, she struck a nerve with me that instantly resulted in a boner, her ability to tease getting better with each fuck flick I see her in. Give it a look and you will see why Jules is one of the most acclaimed directors in the industry for gonzo smut, many others depending on parodies and romance as a result of his success.
