Audio/Video Quality: Strap On Tight: It’s A Lesbian Ride was presented in anamorphic widescreen color as shot by director Joanna Angel for Burning Angel Entertainment. The camera work was by Mike Quasar and editing by Sonny Malone, a team capable of very technically adept porn, each of the five scenes looking different as Joanna seemed to want to offer variety rather than a strict formulaic process like so many of her peers provide. So while the lighting varied more than I typically like, the action was easy to see and I saw minimal compression artifacts, the video bit rate varying considerably throughout the scenes. There was no company watermark continuously shown for those who care. The aural components of the show were handled in a post-production encoded 2.0 Dolby Digital using 192 Kbps audio bit rate. The vocals and ambient noises were captured by the microphone attached to the cameras as best I could tell, most of the comments easily heard when the music wasn’t mixed in too aggressively. The music was credited on the company website as coming from varied sources such as Shiragirl, Theo and the Skyscrapers, The Diemonds, The Erotics, and Great Dismal Swamis; each significantly different than the bland music you tend to get on a porno (support your local bands!).

Body of Review: Joanna Angel has been a performer and director of porn for years now, the gal picking up directing to provide an alternative to the generic, bland porn her and her friends used to goof on. She and others started a porn renaissance of sorts in a genre that used to be referred to as “alt-porn”. Now that this term is as despised and hated as any other, you can call it what you like but it isn’t all that similar to the porn your grandfather used to watch back in the 70’s and 80’s, oftentimes baring little resemblance to most modern porn too with her works at Burning Angel Entertainment. During a rough transition period where Joanna’s new distributor wasn’t sending out review screeners, I hadn’t heard much about what she was up to, the drought finally over with Strap On Tight: It’s A Lesbian Ride, a title that explains quite well what you should expect from the single disc release. There were five scenes starring a cast of ladies that almost always had considerably body art boning or getting boned by a lesbian partner with a strap on dildo. Of course there was a lot of licking, sucking, groping, and other sexual acts too but that was the focal point I was looking for, my taste in ladies admittedly not exactly dead on here but there was a lot to like all the same. Here’s a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

In three scenes, I got the impression that the ladies barely noticed a camera present and the other two made up for it by hamming it up more than usual, the result being a high level of fun factor fucking to appreciate. In short, if you appreciate heavily tattooed young ladies such as Lily Lane, Tori Lux, Jessie Lee and others combined with high energy rock and roll by real bands, you are probably going to adore Strap On Tight: It’s A Lesbian Ride even more than I did so check it out.
