Extras: While I expect this to have a second disc of extras, this preview copy was of the movie only, update to follow when the commercial release comes in.  Okay, now that the full version is in, here is what was missing from my August 2013 review (about darned time, eh?). The second disc of extras included a 33:11 minute long Behind the Scenes feature that included a variety of clips such as the cast goofing around and having sex, the crew getting things set up, and the usual banter. The next best extra was the 22:28 minute long Casting Call feature showing various industry personnel reading for different roles, some of them laughably bad by the way. Then came a 20:53 minute non-sex version of the movie, a photogallery, some spam, ten trailers to the comic book parody line, and a Vivid offer for a free flick.

Audio/Video Quality: Wolverine XXX: An Axel Braun Parody was presented in anamorphic widescreen as shot by director Axel Braun for Vivid (their super hero parody line). With Axel sharing writing credit with “Mark Logan”, helping edit it with his wife and Claudia Ross, and being credited for shooting it with “Eli Cross”. Kylie Ireland took credit for art direction and the folks at Level 5 Post took credit again for the special effects. There was no company watermark on the lower right corner but this may change in the final product. The aural components were credited to Seth Cardigan listed as the sound technician, the production sounding as good as it looked. I liked the score and some attempt was made to add various sound effects, enhancing the final result for me (I really liked the uncredited song that played during the ending credits too).

Body of Review: Axel Braun is a porn director best known at Vivid for his superhero works, though he also provides lesser parodies to other companies at this writing. Next month, he will release Wolverine XXX: An Axel Braun Parody, a long anticipated homage to the Marvel comics character that helped revive their entire franchise back in the late 70’s. With the recent release of a second dedicated Wolverine movie, one that drew mixed reviews but came across as a nice lead in to the infamous “Days of Future Past” story so many fans are clamoring for, this porn version shows writers more willing to adhere to the source material, albeit with some appreciated sexual antics in costume. I’ll let the dickheads spoil the story elements for you when they get to review it next month or later but it should be noted that for me, this was the best superhero parody of the year, released just in time to get the attention it deserves for awards time. The company described the movie like this: “One of the most beloved comic book superheroes finally gets the porn parody treatment, courtesy once again of acclaimed director Axel Braun and adult powerhouse Vivid Entertainment. Take porn legends Tommy Gunn and Evan Stone, in two career-defining performances as mortal enemies Wolverine and Sabretooth, add superstars Aiden Ashley, Andy San Dimas, Asa Akira, Maya Hills, Allie Haze, and Charmane Star, throw in a scene-stealing turn from Derrick Pierce as the wise-cracking anti-hero Deadpool, and bring back Xander Corvus in his award-winning role of Spider-Man, all directed by undisputed porn parody king Axel Braun, and what do you get? The most hysterical, geek-gasmic, sexy superhero spoof of the year! Oh, did we mention that Wolverine dons the classic blue and yellow costume? Yep, that's one of the million reasons why you can't miss this bundle of absolute awesomeness.” Here’s a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Scene One: Aiden “Domino” Ashley, playing her role as an agent in her popular outfit, was up first with Tommy “Wolverine” Gunn, the two arguing over his participation in a mission she was assigned. The couple were horned up and she dropped down to give him a sensual hummer, teasing him as well as using some hand to gland friction as she savored his meaty member in her mouth. While they remained in costume, care was given to provide access as needed, Tommy pounding her dripping wet pussy in doggy before she became especially active at riding in other positions. Scene Two: Asa “Mariko” Akira, seen in a flashback sequence before a well known duel, was up next with her handmaiden Charmane Star, the lesbian tryst showing some solid chemistry as the pair discussed the matter. Charmane’s duty was to distract her friend, cleaning her up with a towel before using her tongue in even sexier fashion. They kissed and caressed each other, some boob play leading them further south. Neither really seemed as fluid in their roles as the majority of others, the men hamming it up just right in my opinion, but once their gal pal playing was in force, it was stroke worthy as the rest of the fuck flick. Charmane gobbled gash with a purpose and both of them sported a sheen of light sweat as the tryst continued, fingering and ass play included as each took turns on the other. While there was no launching of population pudding here, the ladies were aurally appreciative enough, the dark bed chambers suitable for their efforts.

Scene Three: Maya “Lady Deathstrike” Hills, trying to calm down hyper aggressive brute Evan “Sabretooth” Stone, a role he played very well (makeup on him was great too), embraced the muscular thug as their plan developed. They kissed roughly before she dropped down to slob his knob with a lot of skill, some titty play included as she inhaled his pecker while keeping superior eye contact on him. Maya did not use her hands nearly as much as some of her peers but there was ample opportunity to try him both ways, the gal drooling in abundance even before she sucked his balls to excite the super villain. Without missing a beat, Maya then spread her legs for some standing vaginal plowing, her uniform like the others in how they were tailor made for fucking like bunnies. Scene Four: Allie “Rogue” Haze, looking much like the mainstream movie actress as possible, was up next as she discovered she could have a sexual encounter with Xander “Spiderman” Corvus and Derrick “Deadpool” Pierce thanks to Deadpool’s special abilities. As her biggest regret in life had long been the inability to touch another person without severe consequences, this presented a unique opportunity for her, the character apparently modeled after the comic source material rather than the movie (Rogue having started out as a villain in the Dazzler series had drained the super force out of a powerful character, Ms. Marvel, hence she was able to overpower the dude). She sucked them both off in turns, throwing herself into the moment as their cocks porked her mouth and then bushy pussy, their costumes remaining on though admittedly opened at the right spots. She actively rode them vaginally and continued to give them some fine head, good eye contact provided and some minor choking (Xander choking her neck while she choked his chicken as Derrick went balls deep into her snatch). The birds in the background were mixed in a bit aggressively to the soundtrack but the scene otherwise was a splendid display of her oral skills as she worked him over so well. She gazed up at him in focused fashion while slurping on his pecker, her hand pumping him as she teased him into a fully erect state. She then bent over to let him tap her sweet pussy in doggy style, her moans of pleasure driving her to appreciate him though not as actively riding as her peers did previously. Summary: Wolverine XXX: An Axel Braun Parody by director Axel Braun for Vivid was a lot of fun, had some fine sexual trysts, and used a variety of stylish techniques to appeal to the comic book fan in me as much as any related release to date. The characters stayed in costume as well as adhered to their characters most of the time, Tommy Gunn providing just the right berserker look and ripped looking body for the main role. There were numerous nods to source material that non-fans might not get but even if you aren’t into parodies, this was a winner to watch. As this is a preview copy without all the bells and whistles, I will give my final scoring next month when the official release comes out but as it stands, I think this merited a Highly Recommended, the movie blowing away the multitude of parody pretenders out there on the market. In short, Wolverine XXX: An Axel Braun Parody had everything you could want in a superhero parody, even Wolverine in his original “Weapon X” outfit (circa his introduction in “The Incredible Hulk” comics before that fateful release of Giant Sized X-Men #1 that came out almost 40 years ago). There were enough other characters to make this a “must have” as well, ladies like Asa Akira, Andy San Dimas, Allie Haze, Charmane Star, Aiden Ashley, and Maya Hills; no wonder they held this one until this late in the season. I’d have enjoyed a stronger storyline but the stylish approach used to present this one looked good, I look forward to seeing what kind of extras will be included when the commercial release comes out next month.
