Responsible Sex is good sex, and what the immortal Nina Hartley attempts to convey through "Adam & Eve's Guide to Bondage" is that like anything sex related, bondage is about responsibility. Sure, at the end of the day we all hearken back to the classic scene or cliche of a man being surprisingly bound by a hot woman to a bed post forced to become her sex toy, but in the real world that's an unlawful act and can go over poorly with most people unaware of what they're doing in the bondage arena. Permission is everything, and trust is what's most important and that's what Ms. Hartley stresses to her audience.

Bondage is a dangerous sexual act like anything else, and it has to be taken with as much attention as possible. Of course with all of the rules there is room for a lot of fun, but you have to respect the person you're binding down before you begin. Give them circulation, get their permission and respect, and never gag them unless they want to be gagged, And if you do gag them, do it with something that won't choke them to death. With a keen eye on carefulness before fun, Hartley manages to present an air of professionalism and maturity offering up some tips for the couple who are interested in bondage and not quite there. This DVD isn't for the folks dabbling in bondage, but for the folks thinking about dabbling in bondage who want to learn before poking around the drawer for hand cuffs and neck ties.

There are also demonstrations with stars like Claire Adams and the immortal Randy Spears (who gets his shot in with Hartley), all of whom have a blast displaying the various stages of bondage from the light play which involves loose and free bondage, to the strict players who love to be bound and have their body parts contorted before their partners eyes helpless to the world. Hartley wants responsibility from her viewing audience and she commands the viewer well with a gorgeous dress and a professionalism that makes her an intimidating presence in front of the camera. She authoritarian but quaint as a teacher who knows what she's doing when it comes to gags, ropes, and handcuffs.

Claire Adams demonstrates rope work with some light lesbian action while Hartley and Randy Spreas get it on, but in the process we see how bondage can delight, entice, and allure most people who love to be bound down. Spears and Hartley have a good time together and she shows us that bondage can be safe and fun (and a major cock tease) for both parties if there is mutual understanding and respect to the method that can be utilized with--again--responsibility. This DVD is primarily for couples looking to get in to bondage, not for couples already in to bondage. Take a look at this DVD and have a good time with it before you decide bondage is for either of you. You'll thank Ms. Hartley in the morning.

The audio and visuals act as a combined force that help sell this DVD in to the instructional arena opening the door for a very audible discussion between Hartley and her subjects, all of whom submit or dominate the woman. She can be heard perfectly, and the DVD is presented in a widescreen format with some dim colors that are noticeable but not distracting from the lessons afoot.

GOODIES:
There isn't anything extra on here to add to the lessons taught by Hartley. Typically there are interviews or behind the scenes footage, but the cupboard is bare with this DVD save for commercials for hotlines, and trailers for Adam & Eve Productions.

AFTER THOUGHT:
There are no extra lessons to be had but for people looking to dabble in to bondage with their partners, "Adam & Eve's Guide to Bondage" is an entertaining and well planned instructional guide with some interesting tips and important facts about garnering trust before you can begin dominating your partner. Hartley is as ravishing as ever, and the segments will inform as well as entertain.
