Lovers of big butts have a ton of DVDs to pick from. "Bubble Butts Galore Vol. 7" won't be at the top of any fan's pile. Describing a disc featuring just five girls (no matter how nice their asses) as "galore" is an overstatement, and the action in each scene is perfunctory and barely rates as jacking material.

There's a depressing sameness to each scene: The unseen director/cameraman chats with the girl, who then bends over to give us an extremely close view, crawls on the floor, gets oiled up by a guy, has her ass sized with a tape measure, feels the smack of a ping pong paddle, then sucks and fucks. Each scene ends with a doggy style cum shot on the ass. Oddly, there is no anal sex in this feature devoted to badonkadonk.

Not that the girls aren't enticing. Devon is a nicely filled out, thirtysomething, big-boobed blonde; 21-year-old Tia Sweets is a blue-eyed cutie of mixed race with perky tits (but a slight case of cellulite); Anell is a dark Hispanic beauty; Hollie is a Kansas City cheerleader type who enjoys her sex; and Krystal is a pretty 20-year-old brunette, though she seems more interested in posing that getting off. Krystal tells the director that what she really likes is black cock, so what walks in? A white guy.

                                                        THE DVD

This double-layer disc has technical glitches that only add to the disappointment of the film itself. The feature, especially in the first scene, freezes frequently. The disc is often unresponsive to fast-forward and chapter skip commands; try to back up the action and the film may simply shut off.

The program is presented in 4x3 full frame and 2.0 Dolby Digital stereo. The cover says "Filmed in HD," but the fine print on the back mentions "standard definition" -- the latter more accurately describes the look of the thing.

The main menu offers live-action frames for each of the five scenes. If you don't press anything for 20 seconds or so, the movie starts automatically. A Scene Selection option lets you go to each girl and then to a selection of bookmarks for sections like "oral," "cowgirl" and "cumshot."

The selection of extras is rather extensive, offering a bonus scene, a behind-the-scenes segment, a striptease by a girl named Bree, 12 (!) trailers and a long stream of ads for phone sex lines and cock cream.

The bonus scene nearly redeems the entire disc. It's taken from "Anal Fuck Auditions Volume 1," with a Naomi Watts type taking on two guys and deeply enjoying what she says is her first anal sex. The behind-the-scenes seg is not from the feature at hand, and is in fact not identified at all. It centers on a girl cleaning up after shooting a sex scene. Most of the trailers edit out the hard action, but titles like "Blind Dates eXXXposed," "Insane Cock Brothas 5," "Wife Switch" and "Orgy Sex Parties" (which has at least one superfluous word in its title) seem like lots of fun -- and certainly hotter than the feature at hand.

                                                   THE LAST WORD

Five diverse, attractive women with sizable butts proudly put them on display in this feature devoted to impressive posteriors, but the unimaginative filmmaker has only come up with one scenario for all of them, and whoever he is, he's no Ed Powers or John Stagliano when it comes to interviewing skills. The disc is frustratingly balky, but if you hang on and make it to the extras, there's a hot bonus scene that almost saves the DVD. Almost.
