This 2006 effort from Celeste and the Digital Playground contract players, Icon, puts pretty Teagan Presley front and center in a film that manages to find that rare but appreciated blend of artistry, class and hardcore sex. Icon looks very good in this 1080p AVC 1.78.1 anamorphic widescreen transfer. There's an insane amount of detail present not only on the performers but also in the sets and backgrounds/sets used in the production. There aren't any issues at all with compression artifacts or edge enhancement while color reproduction and skin tones look excellent throughout. Eagle-eyed viewers may spot just a hint of shimmer here and there but you do have to be looking for it to notice it.

Sound: 

The sole audio track on this Blu-ray release is a 48 kHz 448 kbps Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound mix in English. The audio on this release is fine but it isn't as impressive as the transfer is. There's no dialogue to worry about but the musical score stays clean and clear throughout and the levels are all properly balanced. The score's resonance and boucne sounds good and there aren't any problems with background hiss or distortion at all. The audio here won't blow you away but it certainly won't disappoint you either even if there isn't a whole lot of rear channel action worth noting.

Extras: 

As seems to be the norm with their Blu-ray releases, Digital Playground has supplied only one real extra, and it's not a particularly exciting one. The ten minute behind the scenes documentary shows the girls hanging out and prepping for their scenes and... that's about it. There's no substance here, just the usual low impact interviews you'd expect. You do get some alternate angle fly on the wall style sex footage, however, so check it out for that reason.

Motion menus, seven Digital Playground trailers, a still gallery, contact info, and scene selection round out the supplements on this release.

Final Thoughts:

Icon is a good, safe, couples friendly release from Digital Playground. The lack of live audio will definitely turn some off but those who like to use their minds to sort of get in the mood as they watch stuff like this might appreciate the change. The Blu-ray looks and sounds quite good and while the extras are slim, the presentation holds up. Recommended.
