The Movie:

This collection, the second in the line from Red Light District, is a compilation of early scenes featuring a selection of girls who have, at least in terms of the adult industry, gone on to bigger and better things. The most notable in this second volume of Before They Were Famous is the lovely Teagan Presley but other girls like Ms. Scarlet Haze and Sunny Lane have started picking up steam and earning some fans as well. This shot on digital video production looks pretty clean presented here in a reasonably stable 1.33.1 fullframe transfer. There is some mild edge enhancement in a couple of spots and a noticeable bit of mpeg compression evident throughout in the darker scenes. Skin tones look nice and natural, the compositions are dead on (though some of the camera work in a couple of spots is quite shaky), and aside from the fact that this digital video production looks like a digital video production and as such suffers from the minor defects usually associated with the format, everything looks as good as you'd realistically expect it to. A Red Light District video bug appears in some scenes in the bottom right hand corner - an irritating practice used by too many studios.

Sound:

The Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround track is quite sufficient. The dialogue comes through cleanly and clearly as do all of the moans and groans. The dialogue, most of which is in the introductory part of each of the ten scenes, is generally a bit low in the mix but not so much that it's a problem understanding it. This isn't a fancy mix by any stretch but it gets the job done.

Extras:

The disc includes scene selection, an animated menu and a weblink but not a single actual legitimate extra feature of any kind.

Final Thoughts:

All in all, this is a pretty solid collection with a strong cast of girls who, through the magic of this DVD time machine, we get to see in action during the infancy of their adult film careers. There's a fresh faced charm to some of this material and a naïve enthusiasm to some of the scenes that makes it pretty strokeworthy and the fact that none of the girls have had any unnecessary surgery done is a plus as well (each of the ten ladies in this collection is a natural beauty - that would change after some of these scenes were shot in a couple of cases). There aren't any extras to speak of but the quality of the presentation is pretty decent. Before They Were Famous 2 comes recommended.
