The Movie:

This seventy minute smut fest from director Louis Roman from 1984 doesn't have much of a plot at all. A few girls are sitting around in an apartment talking, the discussion leads way to sexual encounters. So seeing as there's really not much storyline to discuss, let's get down to what's important about Taste Of Pink - the sex, much of which features a young and hotter-than-Hell Amber Lynn.

Scene One - Amber Lynn, Karen Summer, Michael Knight: Karen and Amber are hanging out in bed together. Karen lays back and spreads her legs and Amber takes the hint and starts munching her rug like a starving child. Karen works her clit until Amber makes her come and then it's Karen's turn to go down – and go down she does, much to Amber's enjoyment. Michael comes in and Amber starts sucking his dick, then Karen joins in. He lays Amber down and fucks her missionary style while Karen runs around poking and licking in various places. The DVD

Video:

This fullframe transfer looks surprisingly sharp and colorful and the picture quality, for an old XXX film from the early 80s, looks surprisingly good. There are some specks here and there as well as a moderate amount of grain but this looks to be a film sourced transfer and not a VHS or tape source. The unfortunate decision to add a 'Video X Pix' bug in the bottom right hand corner of the image during a few key scenes is also a strike against the disc, as it is a little annoying when it continues to pop up, but other than that, the black levels stay strong, the skin tones look natural, and while there are a few scenes that look a bit on the soft side, overall this is a nice picture.

Sound:

The Dolby Digital Mono soundtrack is a little muffled and not of the best quality, but again, it's taken from a tape source so the limitations of the older technology are going to be there when that's the case. Dialogue is pretty easy to understand, however, and the background music comes through reasonably clear. There aren't a lot of sound effects used in the film, mostly just some random moaning and groaning during the action scenes and these are handled just fine, as are the talkier bits of the movie.

Extras:

The disc doesn't come with a whole lot in the way of extra features but there are two trailers tucked away neatly underneath the menu screens. First up is a trailer for a Capri Production called Expose Me, Lovely starring Jennifer Wells and Jodi Maxwell, and a 1978 film called Honeymoon Haven directed by Carter Stevens.

Final Thoughts:

Amber Lynn fans, don't walk but run to your nearest smut DVD peddler and plunk down your hard earned cash for A Taste Of Pink. She tears up the screen in this early role and while the supporting cast is solid, this is really Amber's show. The DVD looks pretty decent and has acceptable sound and despite the lack of any substantial supplements comes recommended on the strength of Lynn's performance alone!
