Extras: The first disc was sparse on extras, including some trailers and spam only. The double disc set came in a slip cover case but the second disc was where the production shined in terms of extras. The second disc began with a 21:38 minute long Behind the Scenes feature with David mugging for the camera before explaining the movie, the rest of the cast and crew joining in from time to time. This was followed by a 12:36 minute long set of interviews, 3:16 minutes of Bloopers, a 7:22 minute long casting reel, a longer version of the scene between James Deen and Nikki Delano (not cut into the rest of the scene as presented in the movie) lasting 20:39 minutes, conversely, a longer director cut of the tryst between Summer Brielle Taylor, Eva Karera, and Tommy Gunn lasting 19:16 minutes; both of them offering stronger lighting and fewer visual effects. There was a photogallery, trailers, web info, spam, and also a 21:57 minute long bonus scene taken from Secret Crushes starring India Summer and TJ Cummings described below.

Audio/Video Quality: 9 ½ Weeks: An Erotic XXX Parody was presented in anamorphic widescreen as shot by director David Lord for Adam & Eve. David wore many hats this time, co-writing the script with Devan Cypher, acting as Art Director, and shooting with Barrett Blade. The editing was credited to K. and Shadow Bradley with Edwin Lee handling the BTS. Certain sections were too dark and the sex didn’t last long enough for my tastes but it was technically well made with a lot of effort on the screen, speaking of which, no company watermark was displayed onscreen. One of the aspects of the movie that made it work better than many features on the current market was David’s use of establishing shots and different sets, perhaps not up to Hollywood standards but a far cry from what passes as “the same old stuff” other parody directors are putting out too. The aural components were handled by Hamilton Springfield and added to the fun of the show. The vocals were easily understood and the music a definite step up from most parodies of late, the fusion of visual and audio aspects making this a better version of the movie than the last two tributes to the mainstream flick I saw (one a long time ago).

Body of Review: David Lord has been a player in the porn industry for a very long time now, the man currently directing for Adam & Eve. His latest release comes out next month (on DVD) and is called 9 ½ Weeks: An Erotic XXX Parody, the porn version sticking pretty close to the original source material (the Hollywood version coming out decades ago starring Mickey Rourke and then-stunning Kim Basinger). The original story was a variation of “Story of O” and I think I was one of the few who liked it when it came out, time not too kind to the 80’s style it was shot in but several direct to cable versions coming out over time as well. While called a parody, it should be noted that only minor changes were made, the characters actually called Mickey and Kim rather than the original names though the sex was fleshed out as expected. The back cover described the movie like this: “When a wealthy businessman seduces a beautiful art gallery assistant, his imaginative lovemaking awakens erotic desires she never knew existed. Soon, his playful and adventurous sex games escalate to dark, dangerous passions that push her... and their relationship... to the breaking point.” Here’s a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that condoms were used for those still interested:

Scene One: Summer Brielle Taylor, the popular blond bombshell with the curvy body and DSL’s seen on the front cover, was up first with James Deen after he invited her to dinner at his place. On the presumptuous side, James started making the bed in front of her in preparation for sexual activities, the meek blond agreeing to wear a blindfold as he lightly caressed her face and body. He unfastened her shirt to tease her with some ice cubes, working his hand down to her crotch as she learned to appreciate his talents. Scruffy James gobbled her gash and she slobbed his knob to reciprocate, the gal slowly transforming as guided by him into a sexually free woman. The hummer led to some active vaginal riding positions and additional taste testing, the gal squirting a bit before he bald beaver drained his dragon of semen, her hand jerking out every last drop onto her crotch as they finished up the chemistry filled tryst.

Scene Two: Capri Cavanni, a very sexy young lady with pretty eyes and a great rack, was up next with Tyler Nixon in bed. She was wearing blue bikini undies and he was all over her, ditching the bra so he could suck her nipples and tossing her panties aside so he could munch her neatly trimmed cookie until they engaged in a 69. That led to a dedicated hummer and some modestly active vaginal riding, Capri providing some good eye contact throughout the scene. Like the other scenes, it involved condoms but her ass looked especially good as she lay on her stomach with him hovering over her pounding away as she moaned softly. This continued until he plastered her crotch with his sperm, the movie going back to the feature elements from there.

Scene Three: Sarah Jessie, a light haired lass with nice bosoms and tattoos, was up next giving a very scruffy looking David Lord a blowjob and titty fuck in the strip club, oblivious to anyone around them watching. The scene was shown in bits and pieces around a dialogue scene between the movie leads where Courtney slobbed the knob aggressively, inhaling his turgid pecker and otherwise exciting the guy until he burst a nut of semen all over her.

Scene Four: Courtney Taylor, a fetching young blond with ample bosoms, was up next with Seth Gamble on a porn set where the two followed whatever instructions were given them by Summer (who was standing nearby with James). The form of sexual surrogacy was an interesting touch, Courtney throating the man once instructed to and his own oral on her on the brief side. She then mounted him and started riding him vaginally, her juicy ass shaking delightfully well as he hammered away at the gal on top of him. The active nature of the sex and seeming enthusiasm between the performers was a nice touch given the particulars of the movie, Summer jerking off James nearby as a few more positions led to Courtney’s boobs getting glazed with seed.

Scene Five: Nikki Delano, James Deen, Eva Karera, Summer Brielle Taylor, Tommy Gunn, and James Deen, were all up next in what was technically two scenes combined together. James hired Nikki to bone on a bed while Summer joined Eva and Tommy, each section of the “scene” truly distinctive from each other except that they were supposed to be happening at the same time. The creepy guys hanging around the trio going at it (members of the production crew) looked appropriately seedy and James certainly met his match with fuck bunny Nikki going all out to earn her pay for the day, Summer’s portion with Eva and Tommy coming across as much more organic and sensual by comparison. For me, the best way to watch either portion of the scene was to go to the lengthier director’s cuts of the scenes on the bonus disc but it was fun to watch how far Summer had come as a character, her formerly meek self finally coming completely out of her shell without James’ immediate presence. All three ladies were active vaginal riders and gave good head, James much more oral than Tommy in his portion of the scene with Nikki’s dirty talk enhancing their part of the tryst for me. Like the other scenes, the guys wore protection (no problem for me), James’ portion ending when he launched his load on Nikki’s sweet ass and Tommy closing his end out by depositing his nut on Summer’s tit for the ladies to sample.

Bonus Scene: Secret Crushes: India Summer, TJ Cummings: Sure taking photos of vases gets people horny, who knew. India seems very interested in him, and is not afraid to show it, as she opens her shirt and guides his hand to her chest, and just like that he's in. Off to the couch, as he shoves his hand down her bra, while opening her legs, making his way to her happy place. He slides off the rest of her clothes, showcasing that amazing body, before he dives in and slowly licking and sucks her pussy, once again, slow and sensual. I have faith that India should get us going in the right direction before this movie is over. Now that he's nice and ready, she slowly climbs on and quickly turns up the pace, as she rides him, see we are going in the right direction indeed, but sadly it's temporary. Summary: 9 ½ Weeks: An Erotic XXX Parody by director David Lord for Adam & Eve was more of a retelling of the original story as filtered through the eyes of another with more sex included than a true parody but it was entertaining enough to merit a rating of Recommended all the same. James was at least as creepy as Mickey Rourke was in the original and while Summer might not remind me much of a mid-80’s version of Kim Basinger, she was at least as good an actress by any fair stretch of the imagination. The extras were really good this time too, the second disc offering extended director cuts of the final scene (splitting it into two scenes), a wealth of BTS and interview material as well as a bonus scene but the casting of the two leads was quite well done, James in particular one of the better performers clothed or not. In short, 9 ½ Weeks: An Erotic XXX Parody did not poke fun at or otherwise satirize a movie almost universally panned when it came out nearly 30 years ago but great steps were taken to enhance the sexual aspects of the original to work better in most cases, a tribute to the talented cast and crew here. I’ll be up front and admit that I prefer David’s all original features, especially when he has a decent budget to work with but this was a lot of fun too so check it out when it’s released next month.
