Audio/Video Quality: Voracious Season 2: Volume 1 was presented in anamorphic widescreen as shot by director John Stagliano for Evil Angel. Unlike the first season that was released in a single boxed set after all the periodic episodes were released to fans, this second season shows Buttman releasing the DVD sets three episodes at a time, drawing out the show a bit for those of us that prefer a physical media release. I’ll be up front that I have avoided all media discussion about the episodes as they came out, my review below containing as few spoilers as possible to refrain from ruining the viewing experience for the rest of you. That said, the show is very dark thematically but also in terms of the way the episodes were lit, often just hints of light allowing the viewer to delve deeper into the sex and story elements which added replay value. There was a company watermark on the lower right hand corner of the screen during the show so it stood out compared to most company releases that are more traditionally lit. Still, a lot of thought went into the editing and framing of the scenes. No credits were provided for the crew yet but it was clearly a collaborative effort, the moody look of the show very well done. In the same sense, the aural components of the series were also well handled with a lot of care, the music and vocals blended in with appropriate ambient sounds to make it seem like a mainstream feature. There was precious little exposition this time but as I don’t intend on giving away major plot points, that makes it all the better.

Body of Review: John Stagliano is one of the recognized leaders of gonzo porn, his style of participating in action literally spawning generations of copycat directors over the years. John’s company, Evil Angel, is considered one of the biggest and brightest stars of the gonzo realm even now, years later, John focusing most of his talents on tease titles with minimal actual sexual contact these days. Still, the man found time to produce a dark feature involving vampires, the sequel to a very popular season set awhile back called Voracious Season 2: Volume 1. The whole sexy vampire porn angle is nothing new to the industry yet John took it to new heights with his web-to-DVD show and later season set release awhile back, this sequel amounting to taking some of the characters on a new journey for fans to appreciate. Lea Lexis is back as is Rocco Siffredi, joined by former contract babe Stoya and ever popular James Deen to weave another tale of darkness and depravity. Most of Stoya’s feature work to date has been pretty tame and lightweight so concerns arose whether or not she would fit into the mix very well, my first impressions of her in these three episodes being that she handled herself well enough that she should expect some nods around award time, much like the director.

Episode One: It’s Dangerous Out Here: Anikka Albrite, Stoya, Skin Diamond, James Deen, Deviant Kade, Wolf Hudson: Much of the opening episode sets the stage for the show to continue, hotty Skin Diamond giving moper Kade a taste of the heaven she had to offer before they spot a decided cock block in the darkened tunnels of San Francisco. As the show progresses, Wolf is caught up in a web of sexual weirdness, only a satiny piece of red fabric between him and ecstasy soon coming to fruition. From there, James hooks up with smoking hot blond bombshell Anikka on the late night streets, the pair moving off the streets to satisfy their desires as she aggressively kisses and paws him, her perfect ass and all natural body drawing the man in as his quest to let loose some genetic juice moves forward. After picking the wretch up off the streets from begging, Lea took him back to her place where the two ladies used strap on dildos and various other toys to make him their bitch. He had to blow them, take them up the ass, and otherwise orally service the ladies as they saw fit, his spunk eventually delivered in spades after they gave him some serious blue balls, the splooge the icing on the proverbial cake in terms of his prolonged degradation at their hands. Kade was physically tormented and provided the ladies with some ass eating, pussy munching and foot worship, Skin rewarding him with a blowjob and Lea practically devouring him orally before they pushed him over the edge to deliver the ball batter.

Episode Three: Can I Offer You Something To Eat?: Samantha Bentley, Stoya, Lea Lexis, Rocco Siffredi, Clarke Kent, Thomas Stone, Keni Styles, Deviant Kade: The third episode showed Stoya as a gracious host, offering her slave as a feast for a guest while the theme of the vampires dying off became more prominent. Lea and Stoya then celebrated their womanly virtues together in the lair, the two athletic ladies looking very hot in the lesbian tryst which of course set the stage for a confrontation between Lea and an old friend for control of the clan. Then, the police investigating the battle get sloppy, Keni ending up getting some love from Sandra, her feminine wiles cloudy his judgment as much as his growing erection in his pants did. Her skin tight red vinyl jumpsuit did not help matters any either, the man her virtual captive as she inhaled his pecker to a very erect state in the nearby woods. Summary: Voracious Season 2: Volume 1 by director John Stagliano for Evil Angel was only three episodes of the follow up season but it already has left me wanting more, my preference for full season sets aside, it was a lot of strokable fun. The sex was steamy and intense, the vampire theme polished up really well to show the horny blood suckers at their most devious, and the technical aspects enhancing the final product enough to make this the latest “must have” for any vampire lovers out there. It also marked a very positive change for performer Stoya, a decided upgrade from the fluff she has been associated with for far too long now, the others fitting in quite well as they fucked, sucked, and offered up some admittedly disturbing kink at times. This show is not for the squeamish by any means but it already has earned a rating of Highly Recommended, the best being yet to come. In short, Voracious Season 2: Volume 1 was the next step in evolution for John Stagliano’s epic tale of vampires and intrigue, the kind of show becoming increasingly rare these days which makes it that much more appreciated, so turn down the lights and watch it with a friend.
