The Movie:

Celeste puts Stoya in the spotlight for this latest Scream entry and you can't blame them for wanting to cash in on this gorgeous young woman's rising star. Those familiar with the Scream series so far will know what to expect but for those who haven't checked on out yet, well, they're basically XXX homages to old horror films. The plots, as minimal as they are, string the longish sex scenes together and give it all some context and they tend to try to look like old exploitation movies in terms of tone and feel.

That said, you're not watching this for the story (which is good because it's skimpier than some of the outfits the girls in this movie wear), you're watching it for the girls, likely for Stoya specifically So without further ado, let's cut to the chase...

Scene 1 - Stoya, Alexis Texas And Johnny Sins: In this opening scene, Stoya and Alexis are sitting in a movie theater together. Johnny comes up behind them, obviously in the mood for a good fuck. The girls start touching one another and making out and Johnny gets in on the action. If taboo aspect of twins gets you off, you'll enjoy this one, as it does 'go there' to a certain extent and the girls show some good enthusiasm when it comes to giving head, but there isn't quite enough passion here to let this scene really take off.

Scene 4 - Stoya And Mahlia Milian: Ah, back to Stoya, just as it should be. She wanders into a room where a semi-naked sexy dark skinned Mahlia approaches her and they yap about this and that and dead daughters and some such nonsense. By this point, however, I'd more or less stopped paying attention to the plot as it simply wasn't very interesting. Back to the sex! We get a flashback and see Stoya and Mahlia making out with lots of deep tongue kissing and passionate licking and sucking. They suck on each other's tits and rub their pussies and soon enough go down on one another. There's some pretty genuine heat here, showing that Stoya really seems to excel in the girl/girl bits she's done for Digital Playground lately. There's no toys here, the girls don't need them, they just get it on the way you want a pair of gorgeous girls to get it on - with some serious gusto!

Scene 5 - Madison Ivy And Tommy Gunn: After playing with a trash talking Ouija Board, Madison gets a yearning for some cock. She finds Tommy and gives him head. At almost two hours and fifteen minutes in length, there's a lot of fucking in this one and three of the five scenes do feature our favorite titular cover girl in action, and they're all pretty steamy. This makes Stoya: Scream absolutely worth a look for her ever growing fan base. Yes, this is a Digital Playground production so you can expect that the studio's trademark gloss will be applied throughout, which might detract a bit for those interested only in the hardest of hardcore, but the scenes are all shot nicely with good use made of sets and props to build some decent atmosphere that actually manages to enhance the sex. Some will find the incessant use of filters annoying but it doesn't suck out too much of the detail, not as much as you might expect really, and it does seem to fit with what the filmmakers were going for here.

Stoya: Scream looks excellent in this 1080p AVC 1.85.1 anamorphic widescreen transfer once you get used to the 'this is supposed to look like ratty old film stock' filter that has been applied to the entire movie. There's an insane amount of detail present not only on the performers but also in the sets and backgrounds/sets used in the production. There aren't any issues at all with compression artifacts or edge enhancement while color reproduction and skin tones look excellent throughout. Eagle-eyed viewers may spot just a hint of shimmer here and there but you do have to be looking for it to notice it.

Sound:

The sole audio track on this Blu-ray release is a 48 kHz 448 kbps Dolby Digital 5.0 Surround Sound mix in English. The audio on this release is fine but it isn't as impressive as the transfer is. Dialogue stays clean and clear throughout and the levels are all properly balanced. The score sounds good and there aren't any problems with background hiss or distortion at all. The audio here won't blow you away but it certainly won't disappoint you either.

Extras:

First up going in order of the menu is a Photo Gallery that features dozens of shots of the performers involved in hardcore action from the feature film as well as some tantalizing tease/glamour shots as well. Digital Playground has also included a trailer gallery featuring promo spots for Pirates, Pirates II, Nurses, Jack's Teen America Mission 3, Babysitters, Island Fever 4 and Cheerleaders. The trailers are all presented in HD and in 5.1 or 5.0 Surround Sound, which is a nice touch.

From there, check out the Behind The Scenes (10:31) featurette, presented in HD with a nice Dolby Digital 5.0 Surround Sound mix. Alternating between black and white and color footage, this featurette contains some fly on the wall behind the scenes footage eof the performers doing their thing as well as some candid interview footage. It isn't deep, but its moderately amusing.

Motion menus, Digital Playground contact info, and scene selection round out the supplements on this release.

Final Thoughts:

As long as you're okay with the 'faux film' visuals, Stoya: Scream is definitely worth a look. The transfer is well authored and even if there's no HD audio track, the Dolby Digital 5.1 mix is solid enough. The extras aren't all that exciting but the feature is strong enough that we can overlook that. Recommended, particularly for Stoya fans.
