Synopsis

Stoya Heat is a very nicely crafted six-scene all-sex release that features AVN's 2008 Best New Starlet (and Dr. Jay's Must-See Girl recipient) Stoya. Each of the six scenes in Stoya Heat involves a creative--yet unpretentious and plausible--scenario. Another scenario, in Scene Two, involves what happens in the bathroom when horny stud Danny Mountain gets out of the shower to discover his girlfriend Nika is primping herself erotically in front of a mirror.

Director Robby D. and his crew (including the editor) did a very nice job shooting and editing Stoya Heat. If you watch the Behind-the-Scenes featurette, you'll see why. Whereas most porn videographers use simple pro-sumer level hand-held videocameras, Robby opts for a humongous setup that literally guarantees smooth movements and high-quality digital video. I must also compliment the excellent location for the shoot (I wish I owned a kitchen one-tenth as nice as the one used in Scene One). And, the musical soundtrack that accompanies the scene set-ups (but fades away during sex) is quite good. Nice job!

• There's a bit of ambient airplane noise that's a bit distracting.

Scene 6

Scene Type: Boy/boy/girl.

Scene Set-up/Plot/Scenario: Stoya and yet another boyfriend (Scott Nails) are busy making out on her living room couch. They share kisses, caresses, murmurs of affection, and squeezes. Then, Scott abruptly puts an end to their pleasure when he announces that he has a friend coming over. Soon, Scott's buddy Jerry arrives and joins them on the couch. So boring...so predictable...so un-Stoya. There's no chemistry, no heat, and precious little pleasure. In fact, Stoya receives very little gratification from the guys. Worse, even through there are two guys...and hence, two tongues...nobody thinks to go down on Stoya's tasty twat. What the hell is the deal with guys in b/b/g scenes? Do they try to impress each other to the detriment of the girl? As you might have guessed, I'm no fan of b/b/g threeways (although I think b/g/g scenes are the best...OK, so I'm a sexist). In fact, the only reason I think there ought to be two or more dicks in a scene is if the girl gets DPd. Sadly, that doesn't happen in this scene even though we all know that Stoya relishes anal sex. To add insult to injury, Stoya spits out a double load of cum at the end of this not-even-D-grade scene. Frankly--and these are hard words for me to write because I admire Stoya so much--I think this is Stoya's worst scene ever. You're too good for such neglect by guys who seem to have each other on their minds instead of on you. I really don't care to write more about this disappointing scene.

Extras

The DVD-9 disc that I reviewed contains a full-motion chapter selector, multiple chapters per scene, a four-minute slide show accompanied by music, a manually controlled photo gallery (same images as the slide show), trailers for eight Digital Playground releases, studio contact information, and a 10-minute behind-the-scenes featurette (BTS). The BTS includes: random shots of on-set foolishness; naked girls strutting around the house; make-up/wardrobe; impromptu interviews; video of still photos shoots; behind-the-camera looks at the filming of the sex scenes (what a camera!); and off-camera making-out by the performers. This selection of Extras is slightly below average in today's marketplace. Two and one-half stars.

Final Thoughts

The best things about Stoya Heat include:

• Sexy and wicked Stoya and her performances in Scenes One and Three.
• Priva and her performance in Scene Five.
• Madison Scott's fabulous body.
• the location used during filming.
• the scene set-up scenarios.
• the video in Scenes One through Four.

Stoya Heat could have been better if:

• the color balance were better in Scenes five and six.
• transitioning/inserting footage were included between each sexual position.
• Stoya had done anal in all of her scenes.
• a better selection of Extras had been included on the DVD.

Things I didn't like about Stoya Heat include:

• Scene Six is a major disappointment.
