Extras: The best extras was easily the 10:27 minute long Behind the Scenes feature by Jamal Johnson and Nick P. The ladies were especially feisty and the comedic pop up video bubbles were back as fun was poked all over the place. There was also a slide show with photogallery, and trailers to movies like Pirates II: Stagnetti's Revenge (Blu-ray), Island Fever 4 Blu-Ray, Jack's POV 1 Blu-Ray,Cheerleaders BR, Babysitters BR, Pirates BR, Contract Star BR, and Island Fever 3 BR.

Audio/Video Quality: Stoya Atomic Tease Blu-ray was presented in the usual 1.78:1 ratio widescreen color as envisioned by director Celeste for Digital Playground in the usual AVC codec reserved for the high definition releases of the company; the resolution in 1080i. The high end equipment and skilled crew of regulars assisted director of photography Robby to make this release look really sharp; losing the artistic style that doesn't always work so well for me. In fact, the technical matters showed Robby's influence serving nicely to ground the scenes with less of the arty farty filters and effects that the director sometimes uses. The lighting was generally solid here, reducing the grain, video noise, and other defects that sometimes arise in making porn on a budget; favoring a clear focus in some cases that I was convinced worked very well. Kurt Tortcher was the editor and he did okay with the footage provided him, some of the camerawork making it tougher to clean up but still better than earlier works. The DVD mastering revealing no compression artifacts; with the bitrate for the visuals hovering around the mid 18.8 Mbps this time with few flaws but not as low in resolution as previous efforts in related showcase efforts from prior to last year. The audio was presented in a 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround English using a 448 Kbps bitrate and 48 kHz sampling rate; over twice that of most porn made these days, with a minimalist leaning that seemed unique in most ways to productions outside of the Jack series, but the vocals did not always dominate the audio track as I like it so your mileage may vary. There wasn't much separation between the channels, if any outside of the intermittent music, but the ladies were always clearly heard here.

Body of Review: Celeste is the softening edge over at Digital Playground from what I have seen over the years; Joone directing the blockbuster titles, Robby doing all the gonzo and majority of specialty projects, and Celeste providing thematic outlines for her boy toy to translate into sellable erotica. A few days before Christmas, her next release will come out in the form of Stoya Atomic Tease Blu-ray, a showcase effort where three of the six scenes star the cute brunette with freckles and milky white skin. The driving theme this time was based on the pin up queens of decades past, using older hair styles and lingerie to give a distinctive look to the scenes even if the relative lack of pubic hair and sexual aggressiveness on the part of the women seemed to be anachronistic by comparison. Stoya, having won a major award at the Berlin Venus show and having already won the 2008 Xcritic Best New Performer Award, is a contender for the more important Best New Starlet award from AVN next month so if movies like this can influence some of the judges that her range is better than previously thought, all the better to give her that final push. Here's a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Scene Two: Alexis Texas, the splendidly curved blond cutie from the Lone Star State, was up next in bed with Johnny Sins. The starlet theme was maintained and she masturbated as she showed off her healthy curves, the lighting downplaying her freckles and the camera all too close to show much of her in context but sharply focused on all her fans hold dear of the lady. She woke Johnny up with her twisting and turning in bed, the man going down on her from behind to help her scratch her itch. He fingered her and she gave a short hummer in return, the pounding vaginal action not giving her as much a chance to become active until she was on top (where she did an excellent job). It did not take too long for him to rub out a wad of population pudding onto her ass crack, her vocal appreciation admirable as she laid back down to sleep.

Scene Three: Stoya, looking as frisky as ever in granny panties and smaller attire, frolicked on the floor in the next scene, some nipple pasties securely fashioned as Scott Nails watched from the couch. When she had removed her undies, he came over to go down on her, Stoya purring at the way he ate her juicy snatch out and the gal giving a decent blowjob in slightly cautious manner. I loved that she kept eye contact to establish a connection between them and she did her best to deep throat him, the resulting vaginal plowing handled well enough to milk him dry way too soon as he bust a nut into her mouth.

Scene Four: Tobi Pacific, a redhead with more freckles than Stoya, was up next as she performed a strip tease for Johnny Sins in the bedroom, seducing him in her traditional outfit as it fell slowly to the floor. Scene Five: Madelyn Marie, a brunette with a classic look, followed the stripping dynamic ever so slowly in the next scene, the music punctuating the era of the conceptual visuals, her stockings looking great on her lean legs. Tommy Gunn gave her some head and she reciprocated with foot fetish material including some light trampling and a footjob, then more stocking play after she sat on his face and gave him a blowjob. It was a slow hummer but displayed a polished approach begetting her experience, the active vaginal ride minimized when Tommy took over in the doggy position. The ending pop shot was small and landed mainly on her chest but I'd like to see her in a more contemporary setting in the future.

Scene Six: Stoya, acting giddy alongside riding crop-wielding Marie Luv, were up last to dominate James Deen in bed. He was tied up and spanked, the ladies relishing their captive as he struggled for freedom. Stoya marked her territory with lipstick (large red impressions of lipstick on his ass cheeks) before they rolled him over to blow. Marie was more aggressive during the oral but Stoya showed she was far from the shy newcomer she was a mere year ago by her nice assist. James gave a little head here but hardly enough, moving to pounding the ladies vaginally as they assisted one another. This was the least active ride in the movie by the lead but she looked radiant as she took the dick inside her cleanly shaven biscuit, soon becoming more active with time. This continued as the ladies took turns riding James, his inevitable pop to Marie's ass licked and swapped by Stoya until they faded out.

Summary: Stoya Atomic Tease Blu-ray by director Celeste for Digital Playground was a nice balance between her older style where the vocals were discarded and the newer material where the vocals dominated, the theme of the tunes fitting the visual elements even if played too loudly much of the time. I thought the levels of couple oriented fuck for the buck and replay value, combined with a tremendous amount of beautiful Stoya in action, merited a minimum of a Recommended or better, Stoya herself worth checking this one out when it comes out later this year. In short, Stoya Atomic Tease Blu-ray will appeal to those with a developed sense of esthetics and in tune with beauty over raw sexuality but there was enough of that to satisfy a general audience as well so check it out.Oh, and as far as the high definition version was concerned, this was a marked increase in resolution that enhanced the lovely cast, especially Stoya, in all the scenes.
