Operation Desert Stormy is an extremely well made and delightful spoof of action/adventure movies. You really owe it to yourself to see one of the best adult movies of 2007.
In Operation Desert Stormy, Stormy Daniels proves that she's in an extremely small group of individuals who can write, direct, and perform in a mainstream-quality comedy. Yes, we all know that Stormy is a drop-dead-gorgeous blond who's an incendiary performer. However, you may not know just how talented this multi-faceted star really is. Once you see Operation Desert Stormy and its accompanying Extras, you'll know exactly what I mean.
I really don't want to give too much of the plot away because it's fun to watch unfold. However, in a nutshell, Stormy is the "administrative assistant" to a CIA agent (Randy Spears) known, appropriately enough, as "Agent X." Through a series of mishaps, she and her bumbling husband (Steven St. Croix), who's also a CIA agent, save the world from a nuclear bomb in the arsenal of a middle-eastern sultan/terrorist played in an extremely comedic way by Ron Jeremy.
Operation Desert Stormy has it all. As I was watching this three-hour, eight-sex-scene movie unfold, I wrote down a random list of what caught my attention. Here are some of the highlights: secret agents; high-tech gadgets; geeky-but-adorable female gadget maker (Jenna Haze); camels; shoot outs (Stormy is an unexpectedly crack shot); laughs; stunts; martial arts; skydiving; guns; sultans; hand grenades; concubines; orgy; palaces; daring escapes; infrared intruder alarms; treachery; heroism; luau; island paradise; and desert wilderness. And, for good measure, there's an extra-large helping of romance and white-hot sex, too.
Sounds like a mainstream action flick, doesn't it? It really is. Operation Desert Stormy really blurs the line between "porn" and "mainstream." Director Stormy Daniels has accomplished a very great feat in creating--and performing in--this must-have treat.
No review of Operation Desert Stormy can be complete without mention of the Extras. The deluxe oversized DVD box, which contains lots of soft and hard photos of the cast, holds three DVDs. The three-hour feature is one Disc One. Disc Two contains lots of behind-the-scenes content and Disc Three contains interviews, deleted sex scenes, and bonus scenes from other Wicked releases.
I must also mention the superb sets--ranging from a mundane office set to a sumptuous throne room--and the inventive ways the sets were used during sex. I'm SO tired of "couch sex" that I even relish the idea of people fucking on beds. Stormy went further than that by using gold thrones, missile launch rooms, tents, and other locations/sets/props during sex.
The video is as near perfect as humanly possible. And, the audio, presented in Dolby Digital 5.1 as well as Spanish and commentary soundtracks, is superb.
Venerable Ron Jeremy is absolutely hilarious as the sultan/terrorist. Steven St. Croix, Stormy Daniels, Jenna Haze, Nicole Sheridan, and Randy Spears also provide first-rate performances...definitely mainstream quality!
