Audio/Video Quality: Squatter was presented in anamorphic widescreen as shot by director James Deen for Vivid Entertainment. Eli Cross was the director of photography so the movie looked great, the editing of both picture and sound by Philippe De Tournemount, and Kyle Caruso on post production helping this one look a lot better than James other directing efforts of late. The lighting was solid, the smooth editing helped, and the vocals were crisp as could be, a lot of fine tuning going into the production from a technical standpoint. There was a light company watermark in the lower right hand corner but it never really got in the way of my appreciation for the movie, the color tones, camera angles, and other aspects of the movie looking quite nice. The sound was also an upgrade from some of the latest releases on the market, the vocals and music blended together to help make the comedic aspects of the movie better.

Body of Review: James Deen has long been recognized as a talented actor and decent male performer in the adult entertainment industry, the guy having directed at Burning Angel, Evil Angel, and Vivid Entertainment to show he is becoming equally talented behind the camera as well. His latest release is called Squatter and in it, he teams up with hilarious Tommy Pistol to showcase their comedic chemistry together as a pair of former roommates who get back together when one undergoes some hard times. With babes like Remy LaCroix, Chastity Lynn, Ash Hollywood, Anikka Albrite, and Veruca James on hand to make the sex fun as well, this flick stood out as one I would enjoy repeatedly. The back cover described the movie like this: “Tommy and James are old college roommates who haven't seen each other in years. After splitting up with his wife, Tommy shows up on James' doorstep with a duffle bag, a forlorn look and no place to sleep. James and his girlfriend have a great little life and a great little home, but all that will soon change, as James learns that the oldest of friends can become the oddest of nightmares. Join James Deen in his first major directorial feature as he brings his trademark brand of subtle humor to the screen...along with two 3-ways, two anals, an interracial and a DP! If anyone misses this, they don't know squat.” Here’s a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Scene One: Remy LaCroix, the lean young lady sported on the front cover, was up first in bed with James Deen. Summary: Squatter by director James Deen for Vivid Entertainment was technically well made, had a lot of strokable hardcore sex action, impressed me with a fine cast of attractive ladies, and had the kind of replay value to merit a minimum rating of Recommended or better, depending on how much you enjoy comedy porn. While some of the antics were derivative of mainstream titles I’ve seen over the years, James and company made it work pretty well in most cases, the sex punctuating the feature elements quite well. I wished some portions were a lot lengthier in that regard but it was a good start regarding James transitioning into the role of the movie maker instead of just a meat puppet. In short, Squatter showed a lot of potential for James Deen to become an even bigger force in the adult industry, some rough edges and a brisk pace holding it back ever so slightly from getting higher marks but otherwise, the movie was enjoyable enough to give a nod to.
