Extras: The two best extras were the bonus tease scenes, one starring Sochee Malo that lasted 11:53 minutes and a shorter one with Shay Jordan lasting 3:25 minutes. This is the minimalist kind of tease extra you should expect to get from them but I'm happy they finally started coming around. The next best extra was easily the 8:50 minute long Behind the Scenes feature by Jamal Johnson and Evul Atheng. The ladies were especially feisty and the comedic pop-up video bubbles were back though not as prolifically as in other releases of late. There was also a slide show with photogallery, and trailers to movies like Pirates II: Stagnetti's Revenge (Blu-ray), Island Fever 4 Blu-Ray, Jack's POV 1 Blu-Ray, Cheerleaders BR, Babysitters BR, Pirates BR, Contract Star BR, and Island Fever 3 BR.

Audio/Video Quality: Shay Jordan: Leather and LaceBlu-ray was presented in the usual 1.78:1 ratio  widescreen color as envisioned by director Celeste for Digital Playground in the usual AVC codec reserved for high definition releases in this 1080p presentation. The high end equipment and skilled crew of regulars assisted director of photography Robby to make this release look really sharp; losing the artistic style that doesn't always work so well for me. In fact, the technical matters showed Robby's influence serving nicely to ground the scenes with less of the arty farty filters and effects that the director sometimes uses. The lighting was generally solid here, reducing the grain, video noise, and other defects that sometimes arise in making porn on a budget; favoring a clear focus in some cases that I was convinced worked very well. Sidney Michaels was the editor and he did okay with the footage provided him, some of the camerawork making it tougher to clean up but still better than earlier works. The DVD mastering revealing few compression artifacts; with the bitrate for the visuals hovering around the mid 22.3 Mbps this time with few flaws but not as low in resolution as previous efforts in related showcase efforts from prior to last year. The audio was presented in a 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround English using a 448 Kbps bitrate and 48 kHz sampling rate; over twice that of most porn made these days, with a minimalist leaning that seemed unique in most ways to productions outside of the Jack series, but the vocals did not always dominate the audio track as I like it so your mileage may vary. There wasn't much separation between the channels, if any outside of the intermittent music, but the ladies were always clearly heard here.

Body of Review: Digital Playground is one of the dominant companies in porn these days, their knack for winning awards as accepted as their leadership in the high definition field. One of their most curious facets is the continued use of conceptual director Celeste whose boyfriend shoots most of their flicks for, the trend away from erotic vignettes seen at the company as well as in the industry at large. Well, coming up at the end of the month is a tribute showcase to former contract performer Shay Jordan, the title of the outing called Shay Jordan: Leather and Lace in Blu-ray. The movie clocked in at a mere 76 minutes but provided more footage of the lovely young lady than any recent porno in memory. The five scenes included three with Shay and two others you might find appealing, even two bonus short teases, one by Sochee Malo. Here's a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Scene One: Shay Jordan, the hotty featured on the front cover, was up first dressed in a poodle skirt as Scott Nails approached her on the couch. He called her out regarding her desire to be with him, the guy going down on her as she expressed her delight. He went right to drilling her cookie too, skipping the blowjob for the moment as he pounded away at her, allowing her to blow him once the cock was dripping with her juices. Shay worked him with her mouth and hand together, stripping off her clothing and presenting herself though it remained a passive session for her this time. I liked this scene far better since she was not a passive participant, a few positions of penetration meeting with a mouth pop of population pudding. The energy and chemistry were better here and it showed.

Scene Three: Heather Vahn, an exotic brunette with heavy makeup on and a gap tooth smile, was up next with Tommy Gunn, the two engaging in the taste of the forbidden fruit as they kissed on the couch. One thing led to another and the kisses grew deeper, all guilt washed away in a plea for pleasure, Tommy caressing her leg and nuzzling her neck. Heather felt the growing bulge in his pants too, moving to suck it before he went down on her by the fireplace. The emotions were free flowing and they vaginally screwed until he launched his wad of spew onto her ass cheeks.

Scene Four: Zeina Heart, a brunette that looked much like Heather, was up next as she seduced the upset Scott Nails in the bathroom. Scene Five: Shay Jordan, still on the move as she sought out Rico Strong, showed her limited acting skills as she engaged in some nonsensical dialogue with the guy, the two kissing as they tried to figure out where their relationship stood. He stripped her clothes off and ate her from behind, Shay getting very sweaty as he did so. Shay blew him and they vaginally fucked, Rico choking her before continuing to pound away on her biscuit, draining his nuts dry on her mouth just before the credits rolled.

Summary: Shay Jordan: Leather and Lace Blu-ray by director Celeste for Digital Playground was short but had a lot of Shay Jordan material for fans to fully appreciate. I prefer harder porn with better extras, longer running times, and more sex so I rated it as a Rent It but if you like Shay as much as some reviewers do, you will definitely want a piece of the pie this time. In short, Shay Jordan: Leather and Lace was not the best showcase for her skills but it was not a terrible porno if you like the sex light and prefer seeing more of Shay than ever before. Give it a look and you will see what I mean.  The high definition version did little to change my opinion of this one except to say that some of the effects did appear to work better, elevating the visual appeal somewhat, just not enough for the minimal running time/extras to work at current prices.
