Audio/Video Quality: Jack's Asian Adventure 2 Blu-ray was presented in 1.78:1  widescreen color as shot by director Robby D. for Digital Playground using the AVC codec in the high definition release with a 1080p resolution. The lighting was pretty solid here, as expected given this was Robby's standard type of gonzo, and that meant that the limited amounts of grain and other visual elements used to lend a sense of texture were minimal. While I generally prefer stronger lighting in my gonzo porn, Robby has a way of showing it all with less light, the tint of the colors only slightly off as a result, and even then only occasionally (outside of his "Celeste" projects). The way the scenes were shot and edited was markedly similar in the scenes, though the composition of the angles was changed up a bit depending on the scene in question; providing a variety of styles to enjoy. The composition of the shots and the editing enhanced the look of the ladies more than a little bit too, proving what this critic has to say about the production team led by Robby (no editor was credited this time but it seemed rushed at times). The DVD mastering showed no obvious compression artifacts (the bitrate varying but often staying around the 22.2 Mbps range when I paid attention) but this was not his clearest effort to date even if the enhanced definition added some extra value for me this time. This one didn't look quite as polished as his more recent titles but a quick look at the production date gave me the impression that this was shot quite a while back and looked much like the titles shot concurrently. The audio was presented in a 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround English (using an audio bitrate of 448 Kbps and the usual 48 kHz sampling rate) with a minimalist leaning similar to the rest of the Jack series, with the vocals always dominating the audio track as I like it. While there wasn't much separation between the channels though the ladies were almost always clearly heard and their moans added to the enjoyment of the show for those keeping track.

Body of Review: Pirates II: Stagnetti's Revenge having already gathered significant critical acclaim for Digital Playground, might make any other contract director feel woefully inadequate but director Robby D. is one of those workhorse types that spends less time worrying about what others think and more on delivering the goods. That is one of those things that separate him from the crowd of peers at other companies, the guy learning to do more with less as taught to him in his first directing job elsewhere, years ago. Coming up in a few weeks will be his sophomore series title focusing on Asian cuties with Jack's Asian Adventure 2 Blu-ray. The idea behind the series, besides giving the perverted director the chance to feel up yet another group of babes, is to provide the Asian loving fans with some hot poon tang from the Far East, a market niche that the company really has not spent a whole lot of time on despite successes with related projects. The leading lady this time is former Xcritic blogger Shay Jordan but unlike some of the Handheld titles or lengthier releases of late, the running time and extras were decidedly on the light side this time. Here's a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Scene One: Shay Jordan, the cute former contract gal featured on the far left side of the front cover, was up first to launch the effort as she let the director and Marco Banderas into the house. They were looking for the infamous Cody Bangs to hook them up with Asian hotties downtown so Shay allowed them to wait for him. She was nonchalant about Marco (since he was "Mexican") but once he started pumping the small barbells, his rippling muscles attracted her attention, her muff buffer skirt and white mesh top (Jack left out since he was so puny and unable to come up with a better line than appeal to her intellect). Summary: Jack's Asian Adventure 2 Blu-ray by director Robby D. for Digital Playground was not as good for me as Jack's Asian Adventure 1 was nearly two years ago but I rated it as a Recommended since the high definition upgrade did add something for me this time, the added realism something I did not expect out of the title when I picked it last week for review. The cast was attractive enough and their sexual prowess was never fully tested, but the gals looked better in high definition so I'd be remiss if I did not give the title the nod in this format. I suspect there were production issues arising from certain scenes too given the lack of extras (like a BTS) and the choppy style of editing employed that quite literally struck me as a piecemeal project compared to other titles of late, the specifics less important to me than the final outcome of the movie as a whole. In short, Jack's Asian Adventure 2 in Blu-ray was a treat worthy of checking out more than a few times, the added resolution and detail helping me see the vision of the director more clearly (as well as making it more strokable for my own hand to gland combat).
