Extras: The double disc set included a whole disc full of trailers. While this is usually pretty cool, there were no other extras to fall back on other than a crummy photogallery and spam.

Audio/Video Quality: Shauna Sand Exposed! Blu-ray was presented in 1.78:1  widescreen color as shot by Sauna's male partner Antonio to later be sold to Vivid for distribution. The high definition program was a collection of home movies that Shauna Sand tried to stop legally but then a payday came about and she was pleased as punch to support the release, the AVC codec used as expected. The video bitrate hovered around 16.3 Mbps, easily allowable given the lack of content provided here (it clocks in at just over 73 minutes), and unlike many celebrity sex shows, there was no night vision marring it; heck, the lighting was pretty fair in all, but Antonio was far from a skilled camera operator as he could learn about framing, composition, and a host of other aspects to make his work better. I suppose this is the type of porn people best get used to if they keep supporting piracy too; shaky pictures, amateurish work at best (sans the pseudo-celebrity) but if you're a fan of the former Playmate, you won't find any better hardcore material of her available at this writing, though the company watermark was a pain at times. The audio was presented in a 2.0 Dolby Digital enhanced offering mixed with French (Antonio's native language) and English, with English subtitles for those that care. The audio was even worse with music not redone for the edit and the vocals spotty, the 256 Kbps bitrate and 48 kHz sampling rate not impacting it a whole lot.

Body of Review: Vivid is best known as one of the long time feature powerhouse porn producers employing a variety of contract performers. They've won many awards for their efforts and been the subject of several reality television shows on cable, the company having brought porn to the masses via their educational line, made for cable versions selling at mainstream locations, and a variety of other marketing successes including their line of celebrity sex shows garnering significant media attention. Their latest such release is called Shauna Sand Exposed! and to be up front with you, I was not familiar with the woman and have never been a big fan of jerky looking home movies sold to companies to cash in on mainstream notoriety but I offered to cover this one to provide a balanced look at what it offered for those of you interested in it.

For those of you that don't know who Shauna Sand is, a quick history lesson is in order though. Shauna was Playmate of the month in May of 1996, at the time being promoted for all the usual roles Hef's ladies seem to be handed. Shauna wanted to be in movies and like so many of her predecessors, she landed bit roles in a variety of small productions to be credited as "stripper #2", "nurse", "other cast members including", with her appearance on a poorly known syndicated show called "Renegade" landing her her biggest role to date as the wife of Lorenzo Lamas, a wannabe action hero television star. The couple pumped out three kids and divorced in 2005, Shauna moving on to date others including a Frenchman named Antonio that shot some risqué material as a home movie. That forms the basis for this release that she initially did not want made public, later embracing it as a means of extending her 15 minutes of infamy. Here's a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

The movie is broken into four sections with Shauna Sand and her then boy toy Antonio flirting on camera in POV fashion most of the time. Much of the footage shows her posing and teasing him as he regales her with various compliments in French, her positive responses showing her need for the attention given her. As with most such celebrity shows, Shauna appears in a lot of non-sex material used to stretch out the running time, but at least she does so wearing skimpy lingerie or running around naked, her admittedly older body enhanced by plastic surgery more than a few times (let's face it, she looks to be in her mid 40's though her "official" biography states she is not quite 40 yet). Still, she is lean and appears to like Antonio a lot, his small pecker more than she can handle most of the time.

There were no condoms this time and Antonio provided her with a mouth pop of genetic juice indicative of a guy getting laid a lot, the two sharing some chemistry in the largely vaginal and oral sexual conduct they engage in. She used a dildo at one point early in the show and took a little bit of finger in her ass, catering to the food fetish crowd with the use of ice cream on her body ("I got some on my shoes!") and his cock that she sucked to completion in the third tryst. If you want to see Shauna Sand naked and wearing bikini undies much like she did in her various Playboy releases but with some hardcore footage tossed in almost as an aside, this is probably the best you will see for awhile (though I'd like to see director B. Skow give her a full "Brand New Girls" styled treatment with a "real" meat puppet).

Summary: Shauna Sand Exposed! Blu-ray by Vivid should satisfy the curious with the amount of hardcore footage of the aging Playmate but it will not be enough for regular porn aficionados to get off with so I rated it as a Rent It. If you are a fan of hers or like seeing marginal celebrities grasping at straws to keep in the limelight just a little bit longer, there are many far weaker sex shows like this on the market but she had some chemistry with Antonio and it was a light enough experience that no one is going to be able to argue she was coerced into anything. In short, your mileage will certainly vary with Shauna Sand Exposed! but the fact of the matter is, such flicks seem to draw a lot of attention with those that are new to porn so many one of the many trailers on the second disc will show such newcomers that there is a world of better porn available to them at Vivid, this becoming a gateway production in that sense.
