The Movie:

The Video:

Aunt Peg is presented fullframe in what looks to be its original aspect ratio in a transfer that is obviously sourced from the old Cal Vista Video master rather than a film source. There are mild compression artifacts evident throughout the though no problems with macroblocking. The colors are a bit flat but unlike a lot of Cal Vista's releases, there is no video bug anywhere on the picture (hooray!). This interlaced tape sourced transfer isn't all that impressive however. The most obvious problem with the video is that the damn picture 'wiggles' for a large part of its running time, which gets to be pretty annoying. It's a shame that a better job wasn't done here, as the movie definitely deserves better.

The Audio:

The English language Dolby Digital Mono soundtrack does fair a little bit better than the video on this release, though it too leaves plenty of room for improvement. There's background hiss throughout the picture but once the movie starts you won't have any problem following it. For reasons known only to VCX's authoring department, the sound on the menu is a lot louder than the sound on the feature itself.

The Extras:

Extra features on this disc include a lame slideshow of screen caps taken from the movie and inexplicably stretched for 16x9 display. These play out as a slideshow over some music from the film for about two minutes. Aside from that, there are trailers for Bacchanale (a vintage 'Swedish' movie claiming to the ultimate hardcore film, Angel Face (with Marie McCray, Eva Angelina and Jada Fire) and Gorgeous Nympho Whores (with Liz Honey, Nikki Rider, and a few other gals) as well as advertisements for VCX Online and their Video On Demand service. Static menus and chapter selection are also offered.

Overall:

The video isn't so hot, the audio is unimpressive and the extras are limp. But you know what? The movie is a classic in the true sense of the word - it's really well made and incredibly sexy to boot. Consider this one recommended on the strength of the feature alone. VCX/Cal Vista's presentation stinks, but Aunt Peg holds up really, really well.
