Extras: The best extras were the two bonus scenes, one from Milfwood USA (10:20 minutes) and the other from Shooting Savanna (10:15 minutes) that were pretty decent (and presented in high definition). Then came a few trailers and a photogallery, but my favorite was the 9:24 minute long Behind the Scenes feature by Hank Hoffman. It showed the ladies and Paul working their roles in the production, my only surprise being that Savanna Samson was not featured very much.

Audio/Video Quality: Power (Blu-ray) was presented in the same 1.78:1 ratio widescreen color it was shot in by director Paul "Chuck Lords" Thomas for Vivid Entertainment using the standard definition VC-1 codec in 1080i resolution. For those unfamiliar with his background, suffice it to say that his experience outside of porn is superior to many inside the industry and it shows up in his movies, including this one as shot in high definition, a nice, if modest, upgrade to the previously reviewed SD version. The lighting was well handled and this added to the pleasure of watching the gals in play as the lengthy scenes gave them enough freedom to explore what was advertised as "the dirtiest Vivid girl I have ever seen" on the cover according to the director. The composition of the camera angles and lighting were almost always optimal this time, Paul seeing fit to try and enhance the look of the ladies at every turn as possible. The fleshtones were accurate too and the DVD mastering was well done (if only in a bitrate hovering around 16.8 Mbps; a bit light but still a nice improvement), making it a mixed bag in terms of visual quality; leaning towards above average. The audio was presented in a 2.0 Dolby Digital English (in 192 Kbps with a 48 kHz sampling rate) offering with the vocals sounding flat and the music pretty decent. For some reason, the levels were about the same as usual but aside from the added background noise, the dynamic range was average and the separation of the vocal track nonexistent. I also noticed that some parts of the audio were not picked up by the microphone, giving some sections a dubbed aural experience at times but not like a few other titles of late have done but Miles Long served well enough as the Music Supervisor even if I still want an audio upgrade in such titles.

Body of Review: Vivid Entertainment is one of the few companies in the porn industry that has shown a willingness to evolve in substantial ways in recent times, catering to their usual fanbase but expanding to become more inclusive with the assistance of directors like Paul "Chuck Lords" Thomas. It wasn't that long ago that a "typical" scene by the company was under ten minutes with condoms littering the landscape and that weakened their offerings to guys like me that appreciate lengthy tease and more than a couple of positions. The latest title in high definition coming from this combination is Power (Blu-ray), a showcase for lovely Savanna Samson as she introduced four scenes, three of which included her presence. The back cover said it like this: "Some guys like the girl on top. In this authoritative look at sex and submission, Chuck Lords takes Vivid's Nasty Girl, Savanna Samson, and puts her in charge of the sex and the situation...and the result is rather unbelievable. She's on top in the office, the gym, the home...and she's never been hotter...she's never been wilder...she's never been more in control." While much of that stood as advertising hype, I am a fan of Savanna that thinks she has gotten better with time, routinely proving that experience trumps youth in terms of sexual performances. Here's a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Scene One: Unorthodox Teacher: Savanna Samson, the lovely lady featured on the front cover, was up first as an executive reminiscing about her past in a series of flashbacks. Her first included a scenario where she was a drama teacher, displaying her talents to scruffy Charles Dera and Jack Venice. She stepped up on stage where a conveniently placed stripper pole helped her put on a seductive tease, her clothing falling off to reveal the cover outfit of black lingerie, as the men drooled in anticipation. Charles was sporting wood and suggested he could give a hands on rendition of his own favorite role, that of Savanna sucking his cock while Jack ate her standing figure out from behind. Charles has reportedly been out of the business of late and Jack has had his own hands full since being found guilty of rape but they serviced her very nicely indeed, throat fucking her and licking her labia to her responsive delight before they took turns boning her like they owned her. The lighting cast a bluish tint on them but the surreal look aside (at least when they stood up), Savanna provided an even better blowjob to Jack as Charles plugged her, the teasing vaginal fuck causing her to breath increasingly harder. Savanna was a very active rider here, her pussy glistening with juices as she pushed back to meet their thrusts in several positions. Scene Three: Lingerie Sample: Savanna Samson, next up as a manipulative secretary, showed boss Derrick Pierce a sample of the lingerie line he was buying before the pair made out in the office. As they undressed, she found he was wearing effeminate panties, the setting resulting in an abrupt change to a dungeon where Savanna was tied to a wooden cross in super sexy lingerie (including a red corset) as Derrick spanked her and otherwise tweaked her nipples. This was a decidedly light BDSM scene but Savanna's ass looked highly lickable and she was then positioned into a stockade where she blew the guy, the vaginal action showing her less active during the penetration but clearly liking what was taking place. Derrick ate her after she was warmed up instead of before, leading to a bout of boning in her sweet ass with her on top as she pumped onto the rod with satisfaction. Savanna did some ATM and took the semen to her chest at the end but it was my favorite scene of the bunch for how she reacted to the studly guy even if the switch of scenery was not my favorite approach.

Scene Four: Cop, Wife, and Therapist: Savanna Samson, Jenny Hendrix, Christian, and Nick Manning, were up last. Christian was a police officer that caught Savanna and Nick having sex in a public park, the downside being it wasn't shown in the movie. He brought them home to Nick's "wife" (as played by Jenny) to see if she wanted to press charges. Exactly how that worked since the crime was not against her was never explained but it led to a group grope where all four of them were sucking and fucking before long. Christian thankfully kept his hands off Nick for those that care and the gals shared the cocks a lot better than ladies I've gone out with have done over the years, Savanna once again proving to be the best of the batch here. Jenny was decent too though and having such a fine example next to her certainly couldn't have hurt, the background noises a bit distracting but the action pretty solid all the same. The drilling was secondary to the oral and Savanna liked Jenny's pussy as much as I would have, neither of the men doing as much work as the gals here. Savanna jerked Christian off with her hand and Nick kept his mouth shut as he unloaded to their mouths, the ending a decent finish as far as I was concerned.

Summary: Power (Blu-ray) by director Paul "Chuck Lords" Thomas for Vivid Entertainment was a nice homage to the power of Savanna Samson and earned a rating of Recommended from me. I would have liked better extras and more scenes but as far as Savanna Samson footage was concerned, this was a solid offering for fans and newcomers alike. In short, Power (Blu-ray) had good levels of replay value and strokability, meriting a second look from those of you that appreciate such attractive MILFs. The quality of the Blu-ray version of the movie was higher than expected too, making it worth more than a few sessions of self love.
