Girls!!! was presented in the same 1.78:1 ratio anamorphic widescreen color it was shot in by director Paul Thomas for Vivid Entertainment using the standard definition MPEG-2 codec in 480p resolution for the SD version. While not his most visually stunning work of late, it had a straightforward look to it that worked in some ways for the thematic material here, though some technical polishing up probably kept it in the vaults as long as it did, editor R. Rolande handling those chores quite well. The composition of the camera angles was fairly optimal this time, the director balancing his usual dedication to plot over sex with the strokable aspects this time, yet enhancing his thematic approach with B. Skow on camera to capture the sex better. The fleshtones were generally accurate though but the DVD mastering was well done (if only in a bitrate hovering around 3.4 Mbps in SD, making it a mixed bag in terms of visual quality; leaning towards average at best. There was also a company watermark that I wasn't too keen on but most of the camera work seemed to keep this in mind, keeping the majority of action far away from the lower right hand corner. The audio was presented in a 2.0 Dolby Digital English (in 256 Kbps with a 48 kHz sampling rate) offering with the vocals sounding flat and the music pretty decent, some of the score meriting a nod from me.

Body of Review: Paul Thomas has been a historical legend of sorts in porn for many years, his initial claim to fame coming from his work in front of the camera, the man moving behind the scenes to direct at Vivid Entertainment for years until they parted ways awhile back. While he shot many movies and probably even more scenes that never resulted in a specific flick, he has also been credited to a number of releases compiled from projects that did not work out as planned, such seemed to be the case with Live!!! Nude!!! Girls!!!. The movie's production date was back in 2008 and it credits the talented Shylar Cobi as assistant director as well as B. Skow working the camera, this triumvirate of talent almost certain to produce some great smut for fans to appreciate. What struck me as slightly odd about the movie at first was how each of the company's big names contract stars of the last few years was represented in a single unrelated scene, some of them far better than I would have expected given the disjointed manner in which the movie appeared to have been cobbled. The emphasis was heavy on sex and while the men were not the best used in such a production, how could I fault the inclusion of ladies such as Nikki Jayne, Savanna Samson, Meggan Mallone, Hanna Hilton, and AJ Bailey all put together for each to shine amongst their peers? Here's a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Had the project been better tied together, and had more extensive (and better!) extras, I would have almost certainly elevated the grade a notch but it was still a very nice title I could give a Recommended to all the same. The scenes did not give me the impression that they were shot by the same person in most cases, a fact I attribute to the names mentioned as being the crew leading me to think each shot a few scenes without the others. I favored Nikki Jayne, AJ Bailey, and Savanna Samson this time, each standing out as earning additional kudos, but none of the scenes was truly a toss away effort. In short, Live!!! Nude!!! Girls!!! was certainly better than the alternative (be it "dead nude girls", "live nude boys", or even "live dressed people in general") and could be viewed as a showcase effort highlighting the company's contract starlets of the past few years, most of whom are either gone, on lengthy hiatus, or in hiding I suppose, but I just wish a touch more care had been assigned to the project as a whole since it could have easily been a contender. Still, check it out as it was fun to watch, had some nice replay value, and served as a template for too many cooks spoiling the porno.
