The Movie:

This recent directorial offering from Ethan Kane comes courtesy of Adam & Eve Productions though once you take a look at it, you've got to wonder Kane found it while rummaging through Michael Ninn's notebook or something. It really does feel like a Ninn Worx production - that said, that's not a bad thing. This full on gonzo feature is well shot with nice production values and a solid score and although visually it's a little too dark for its own good, Kane has done a good job here as all five scenes are pretty hot.

Scene 1 - Sasha Grey And Mark Ashley: AVN Performer of the Year Sasha Grey, a natural beauty with dark hair and nice medium sized tits, starts things off by teasing the camera for us. Video:

Presented in 1.78.1 anamorphic widescreen, the transfer for Pure is pretty good even if the film has intentionally been shot to have a very dark look. The lighting in the movie is minimalist to say the least and so you can't expect the same sort of colors out of this feature than you'd get out of a standard 'bright light' gonzo fest. That said, for what it is, detail is fairly strong and the black levels are at least consistently strong. Flesh tones look a little too tanned and it's hard to tell if there's been some tinkering with the color scheme or if the girls just fell asleep in the tanning booth before the shoot. Overall, though, this is decent transfer.

Sound:

The English Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo track here is fine. There isn't any dialogue to not, just the sounds of sex mixed in with an instrumental/ambient soundtrack. It works, and this mix does a good job of setting the mood in that regard.

Extras:

First up is a bonus scene from Sunshine Highway (13:25) starring Bree Olsen and Evan Stone. She's dressed like a farm girl and he like a cowboy. Final Thoughts:

Pure caters to brunette fans with a taste for arty porn but if you find yourself part of that demographic, you'll likely walk away rather pleased with this nicely authored and rather hot release from Adam & Eve. Recommended.
