Extras: The best extra was the 19:56 minute long Behind the Scenes feature, the footage comprised of a series of post sex interviews by Jacky with the cast. Each of the interviews was different but allowed the cast and director put their scene in context as well as allow them to expound on various topics so don’t miss it.

Audio/Video Quality: Restraint was presented in anamorphic widescreen as shot by director Jacky St. James for Digital Sin under her interesting Tales from the Edge line. The solid lighting kept the flesh tones looking exceptional and the resolution of the scenes working best, few compression artifacts observed when watching the movie on the big screen television. The Director of Photography was Eddie Powell this time, the man providing the needed visual elements to make the production work best with the man and Paul Woodcrest working the cameras. It was clear that a lot of work went into the movie and it looked really good, the editing by Gabrielle Anex and lighting helping a bunch to minimize visual issues. There was a company watermark in the lower right corner of the screen but it was very light and unobtrusive so few should complain. The aural components were well done too, the quality of the stereo English presentation combining clear vocals, appropriate ambient sounds, and a mixture of well handled musical pieces to work really well.

Body of Review: Jacky St. James is an award winning director that continues to evolve with her work at New Sensations. One of her best series is called “Tales From The Edge”, the vignettes presented in the series picking up a topic to allow a title four scenes to explore the particular idea from differing angles. Her latest foray into the erotic deals with couples experimenting with BDSM, going beyond the blindfolds from the last title I reviewed into something more involved. The title in question is called Restraint, a set of four scenes starring ladies such as Bailey Blue, Sara Luvv, Presley Hart, and Ashlyn Molloy who discover the sexual thrill of using restraints in the bedroom as a means of trying something new. In an age when BDSM-lite books like the 50 Shades series are so popular, this should appeal to likeminded people wanting to explore new things but not go full throttle into the kink, the idea of testing the waters appealing to many folks more than jumping in headfirst in a way that rarely appeals to most people.

In short, I found Restraint a slightly more provocative volume of the “Tales from the Edge” line, the stories not quite pushing the theme far enough for my tastes but certainly offering a good starting point for couples wanting to spice things up with some experimentation so give it a look and find out why I enjoyed it so much, the casting and technical values sure to please.
