Video: 2 in the Hole consists of scenes shot in a widescreen format, but the DVDs are letterboxed to a 4:3 aspect ratio. Poorly.

Extras: “Pick your pleasure,” a selection option for various positions and sex acts. There are also trailers, where fast forward and rewind are disabled, and a photo gallery.

Overview: 2 in the Hole doesn’t make it tough to guess the theme, the title covers it. The DVD set is a best of collection, all focused on single hole double penetration (double vaginal or double anal). As a Digital Sin production, the disc features playback restrictions and a mandatory 2 minute anti-piracy PSA at the start of both discs, as all Digital Sin and New Sensations videos do. The PSA is so important that it even disables the stop button on some DVD players.

Scene 1: Allison Pierce, Alex Conz, Jordan Ash, 2 Heads R Better than 1 Volume Two, double vaginal. Allison is attractive enough, but her implants are distracting. More distracting is the compression. In scaling the resolution down, the encoding team introduced terrible artifacting, creating jagged edges all over the place.

Scene 2: Crissy Cums, Ben English, Scott Nails, Double Teamed #6, double vaginal. Just like the first scene, the encoding introduces a ton of compression artifacts, including a lot of jagged lines. The scene is fine otherwise, but it’s an irritating issue.

Scene 3: Krystal, Ruka Stone, Ricardo Bell, Sunny Green, Thomas Stone, Me & The Gang, double vaginal, and lots of DP in general being a 4-on-1 scene. Krystal’s a real looker with a nice natural pair. The scene is high energy but not overly aggressive as gangbang scenes can often end up being. As with the previous scenes, the same compression artifacts and jagged lines are present, and annoying.

Scene 4: Aurianna, Missy Monroe, Marco Duato, Mr. Pete, Axel Braun’s Double Teamed #5. Missy Monroe goes double vaginal, and this is the fourth, but fortunately last scene with the jagged edges.

Scene 5: Max Mikita, Mark Ashley, Ben English, 2 Heads Are Better than 1, double vaginal. The headline scene is the first that was properly reduced, but in some sort of cruel irony this one features a tendency toward contrast that’s turned up too high and terrible, terrible lighting that washes things out.

That aside, it’s a reasonable scene. Max has a great figure, great face, and definitely gets into it. There’s a lot of energy without getting over the top or unbelievable, though sometimes it pushes it. Not an amazing scene, but good, and it stands out from the rest.

This is the last scene of the first disc, and it’s also the last one with the technical issues.

Scene 6: Sophia, Mick Blue, Steve Holmes, XXX Erotica 5, double vaginal

Scene 7: Ariana Jollee, Zenza Raggi, Chris Charming, Axel Braun’s Double Teamed #2, double anal, GREAT scene. Ariana brings absolute fire to the screen in a scene that involves some definite acrobatics on a swing.

Scene 8: Audrey Hollander, Manuel Ferrara, Otto Bauer, Mr. Pete, Anal Trainer #7. This scene is a bit of a disappointment. When Audrey is involved there’s obviously anal, and the smart money is on her doing double anal if there’s more than one guy involved. Ariana Jollee is well known for getting dirty, but Audrey usually blasts her kink completely out of the water. If she’s shooting, expect it rough and outright nasty.

Except this time, you don’t get the full package. Audrey is great, she always is. Her implants are a little weird, her face is a little weird, but the way she fucks is mindblowing, and she’s giving heself ass to mouth with a buttplug 15 seconds into the scene. With Audrey, you wouldn’t expect anything less. She spends a bit of the scene with a plug and a cock together in her ass, but she only has two dicks for a few seconds. It’s hot, but it doesn’t really fit the theme for me.

Not to mention, Anal Trainer #7? If there’s a porn star who doesn’t need any extra anal training, it’s Audrey!

Scene 9: Asia, Ben English, Chris Charming, Axel Braun’s Anal Retentive #5. Double vaginal. An Asian porn star named Asia? Unheard of! The scene gets a little too aggressive with the oral at the start of the scene, but otherwise decent.

Scene 10: Candi Apple, Ben English, Marco Duato, Craving Big Cocks #12, double vaginal.

Scene 11: Wiska, Charlie, George Reno, Joe Monti, Kamil Klein, Gang Up! Double anal and double vaginal. Wiska’s a real hottie, and this is the only scene to feature double anal and double vaginal. It’s a 45 minute long gangbang scene, and though Wiska herself has a bit of a quiet voice, there’s something irresistibly sexy about it. It’s understated but intense, drawing your focus on the scene when other girls would put on the loudest moans they could to compete. This scene from Gang Up is a perfect end to the disc. Not only one of the best scenes, but something none of the others have.

Final Thoughts: 2 in the Hole features a lot of content, but fully half of it is marred by production problems. The PSAs are another irritant, two and a half minutes of guilt inducement against pirates, but the only people who see them are paid customers. As mentioned in my previous New Sensations reviews, switching discs means wasting five minutes on waiting to get to the content. Additionally, the widescreen source footage is all letterboxed to a 4:3 ratio. The obvious question is “Why?”, of course. Televisions and computer monitors running a 4:3 ratio are quite difficult to find now, and the trade-off to fit to an outdated screen is jagged edges and poor encoding, certainly not worth the cost.

As with most “best of” types, most of the content is fairly average, but the high points truly are. Ariana’s scene is particularly great; it alone ensures this set is worth a rental. It’s unfortunate to have to say that most of the scenes are just padding for a few good ones, and several of those are brought down by the technical issues.

If there’s a proper blu-ray release, with the PSA stripped and source footage used to prevent the encoding issues, this would be an easy purchase. As is, it’s hard to recommend more than a rental, particularly with to the control locks. 8-track tapes didn’t let you rewind or fast forward either, and look what happened to those.
