The Movie:

The filmmakers behind the XXX parodies Not The Bradys XXX and Not Bewitched XXX are back at it again, this time setting their sites on one of the more risqué sitcoms of the era, Three's Company. The plot is this - Jack (Van Damage) loses his job at the restaurant and can't afford to pitch in on household expenses. Chrissy (Brynn Tyler) takes a night job which leads Janet (Penny Flame) and the Ropers (Nina Hartley and Dino Bravo) to think that she's turning tricks. Hilarity, and much fucking, ensues. It's not a particularly deep film, but it sets the stage nicely for the seven sex scenes that make up the bulk of the movie's running time.

Here's a look:

On top of that, the production values and cinematography are impressive, the score and laugh track completely appropriate, and most importantly, the sex is hot. Very hot. And nicely shot at that! Watch out for a fun cameo from Ron Jeremy as a bartender - looking good in that afro wig, Ron!

The Video:

The movie is presented in a nice 1.78.1 anamorphic widescreen transfer that boasts good, lifelike color reproduction and strong detail levels throughout. There are some minor mpeg compression artifacts evident in a few of the scenes but aside from that the disc is well authored, meaning that there are no problems with edge enhancement or aliasing. Sometimes the colors look to have been intentionally muted a little bit, to give the movie a sort of old sitcom look, but once you get used to it you won't likely notice it and generally the picture does look very good here.

The Audio:

Not Three's Company XXX sounds good in its English language Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo mix. The score, dialogue and 'sounds of sex' all come through loud and clear with nice channel separation and some fun directional effects. Bass response is tight and bouncy and the score in particular sounds very good. Levels are properly balanced and there are no problems with hiss or distortion to complain about. Overall, things sound great.

The Extras:

LFP/Play X have supplied five different behind the scenes featurettes. Part 1 (19:34) contains some candid on set cast and crew interviews with the director, producer, and stars as well as some fly on the wall footage shot during the sex scenes. Part 2 (24:55) is more of the same, though this time we get to spend some time with Ron and, thankfully, watch Brynn's solo scene as it's being shot before moving on to more cast and crew on set antics. Part 3 (27:08) gives us more time with director Will Ryder, some fun outtakes from the lesbian scene, and a bit of BTS footage from Brynn's doctor visit. Part 4 (12:11) concentrates on making the soundtrack for the movie while Part 5 (24:37) is a sit down chat with the two producers, Scott David and Jeff Mullen. There's a lot of material in here, and some of it is actually interesting and worth a watch.

Rounding out the extras is a deleted scene (4:19, Brynn fucks herself with a big vibrator lying on her back and then standing up), a slideshow, trailers for four other XXX parody titles as well as animated menus and chapter selection.

Overall:

LFP/Play X have done a very nice job on their DVD release of Not Three's Company XXX. The movie looks and sounds quite good and the extra material is not only plentiful but enjoyable as well. The feature is as hot as you'd want a porno movie to be, but it's also entertaining and funny as well - something that's far too infrequent in modern porn. Highly recommended.
