Audio/Video Quality: Catfished was presented in anamorphic widescreen as presented by director Jakodema for Digital Playground. Billy Visual and Richard Manwin III worked the cameras and Shylar Cobi was the production manager, Kylie Ireland with Andy Appleton were in charge of art direction and props. The dual layer disc had a lot of compressed footage on it and when it was watched on the big screen television, the number of compression artifacts and aliasing were noticeable but the flesh tones were largely accurate, the framing decent, and whomever handled the editing did a good job for the most part though it did seem rushed at times. This was a standard definition production (720 X 480) but you can watch the show or scenes on the company website in high definition as it was shot if you want a better picture. The aural elements were recorded in 2.0 stereo using the common AC3 codec, the bitrate stable at 192 Kbps and the sample rate of 48 kHz with an alternate choice of a 5.1 surround set up using a 448 Kbps bitrate, the surround not adding any depth or detail, coming across as though added in post production only rather than using native elements. The musical score was appropriate for the feature elements even if it was not credited to anyone other than Seth Cardigan on “sound”, the vocals crisp and the ambient noises mixed in a bit strong, making the overall production of interest to those who enjoy feature porn.

Body of Review: Jakodema is a well known director at Digital Playground who generally handles all their bigger works these days, his creative mind allowing the top notch crew he’s assembled to shine more often than not. His latest release is called Catfished, a story of a hotty (Riley Reid) looking for love on the internet, finding that people are not always truthful in a porn version of a mainstream flick from 5 years ago (though ti added some cute twists too). The back cover described the movie like this: “A sexy divorcee yearns for love, but is looking in all the wrong places. Her ex has already moved in between the legs of a much younger busty blonde, and her best friend is happily consummating her marriage. Nevertheless she has one guy, but he's mostly interested in screwing her than committing. In a desperate attempt she makes an online profile and meets an incredible guy. They've tried to meet several times, but sadly never do. She's sexually frustrated, but can't get away from sex because her horny neighbors can't stop fornicating! In the end, she demands they meet, but will she find the man of her dreams, or discover a lie?” Here’s a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

With an attractive cast of ladies such as Riley Reid, Eva Lovia, Holly Heart, and Zoey Monroe having fun with guys like Derrick Pierce and Steven St. Croix, I thought this one earned a solid Rent It or better, the feature elements a bit haphazard and the sexual trysts not as consistent as I had hoped for. In short, Catfished had a good cast, some decent technical values, and a fresh approach to a popular subject so check it out and see if the company team hit the mark for your personal tastes.
