The Movie:

This Tom Scanlon directed feature from 1988 features a nice selection of the some of the best girls that the eighties had to offer, and some steamier than average sex. The plot isn't really important at all, but it is there and it follows two women who want their friend to loosen up, so they call a man who sells sex toys to show up and give her a demonstration. One thing leads to another and soon the girls are playing with all manner of devices and the uptight woman experiences a sexual reawakening.

Scene One: Carlos Valentino, Krista Lane She strips down to some fancy lingerie and spreads her legs so that Carlos can get in there and use his tongue on her meaty lips. Video:

Right Tool For The Job was shot on video in the late eighties and because of that, it doesn't look very good. The image is soft though thankfully it's not too dark, though there are tape rolls and tracking lines present throughout. Your guess is as good as mine as far as whether this was sourced from a master tape of some sort or from a pre-record that had been laying around, but either way, the colors are a bit flat, the image quality of this release is about what you'd expect from an almost twenty year old tape. That being said, there are video sourced transfers kicking around that look worse and you can only do so much with bad source material – at least you can watch the movie without having to squint. Just don't go in expecting this to look good, as you will be disappointed.

Sound:

The Dolby Digital Mono soundtrack is a little muffled and not of the best quality, but again, it's taken from a tape source so the limitations of the older technology are going to be there when that's the case. Dialogue is pretty easy to understand, however, and the background music comes through reasonably clear. There aren't a lot of sound effects used in the film, mostly just some random moaning and groaning during the action scenes and these are handled just fine, as are the talkier bits of the movie.

Extras:

The disc doesn't come with a whole lot in the way of extra features but there are two trailers tucked away neatly underneath the menu screens. First up is a trailer for Blue Jeans and Female Athletes. There's also a still gallery of random old school porno starlets in action, in addition to chapter selection and animated menus.

Final Thoughts:

Some stand out scenes, hot sex, and fancy looking eighties starlets make The Right Tool For The Job a recommended XXX movie despite the qualms about the video quality. Recommended.
