Extras: The best extra was the 18:51 minute long Behind the Scenes feature, the footage comprised of a series of post sex interviews with some of the cast. There was then a sex act menu, a photogallery, some trailers, spam and company information. Each of the interviews was different but allowed the cast and director put their scene in context as well as allow them to expound on various topics so don’t miss it.

Audio/Video Quality: Father’s Day was presented in anamorphic widescreen as shot by director Jacky St. James for Digital Sin under her now-established Tabu Tales line. The camera operators were Eddie Powell and Paul Woodcrest this time, both of them providing the needed visual elements to make the production work best. It was clear that a lot of work went into the movie and it looked really good, the editing by Gabrielle Anex and lighting helping a bunch. There was a company watermark in the lower right corner of the screen but it was very light and unobtrusive so few should complain. The aural components were well done too, the quality of the stereo English presentation combining clear vocals, appropriate ambient sounds, and a mixture of well handled musical pieces to work really well.

Body of Review: Jacky St. James and her work with Eddie Powell at Digital Sin in the “Tabu Tales” line has proven to be a step or three up from similar works that other companies claim to have been first at, such companies forgetting how many decades ago Kay Parker wowed audiences with her portrayal of the next step in “family relationships”. That said, there has been a revival of the genre of late and a few companies seem able to add the right casts and the right elements to make such titles work while others try to emulate them, the latest in for review called Father’s Day. This one slipped through the cracks when I was off gallivanting around the country earlier this year, each of the four scenes centered on step family trysts where both consenting partners relished the impromptu encounters, the sex flowing naturally out of every day events (this time focusing on step daughters with step dads). Of note was the age appropriateness of the couplings, no stretches of the imagination needed here as is all too often the case elsewhere, and the personal chemistry of the couplings; the believability of the encounters such that the company placed a disclaimer on the front of the credits. With Casey Calvert, Lucy Tyler, Remy LaCroix, and Dillion Harper on hand, I felt the movie had some solid potential to work well for me.

The back cover described the movie like this: “With his wife out of town, a man finds himself in a dangerously tempting situation when his stepdaughter suggests they play a game of strip poker. Charmed by her stepfather's sexual innocence, a young woman provides him with hands-on instruction about the joys of anal sex. A big-time Hollywood agent schools his stepdaughter on the importance of using sex as a way to get ahead. After taking her stepfather on a date to her sorority's semi-formal dance, a young woman uses her powers of persuasion to convince him that there's nothing wrong with a little post-date sex - even between family members.” Here’s a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Scene One: Uncredited: Casey Calvert, a very cute brunette with a perky ass, was up first with Evan Stone. He portrayed a step father who though his step daughter was doing drugs but the indicator was actually an anal plug, the topic changing quickly to his sexual innocence regarding anal sex. Her reasoning odd to say the least, Casey offered to initiate him in the practice beginning by slobbing his knob, throating him with a lot of skill before she actively ride him in her holes on the white couch. Casey was at least as active at riding his turgid rod in her ass as her bald beaver, the gal showing some fine eye contact as she impaled herself on him. He pawed her like a guy about to get caught with his hands in the cookie jar, both giving some oral after the initial boning. Casey did not just “have” anal sex either, she truly enjoyed his stretching her perfect pucker wide, his probing tongue exciting her as well before he slid back in balls deep once more. He gave in far too easily and quickly to make the premise work for me, an issue I had with a few of the scenes this time, but she was sexually well cast given her devoted oral on him as she unfastened his pants and blew him. She focused most of her mouth on sucking his head while her hand stroked his shaft, her eye contact elevating the quality of the modest tryst somewhat. She then sucked his balls and let him in her hairy box, some of the positions more active than others as he porked her pussy aggressively. It ended when he tossed off to her upper torso and face, the encounter the weakest of the set here.

Scene Four: Naked Games: Dillion Harper, a sexy little brunette with a pretty face, was up last as a poker playing step daughter to Alec Knight. The premise was again on the weaker side, Alec taking advantage of her poor card playing skills when she ran out of money by moving to strip poker. She was much freer about her sexuality than he was, the guy finishing her off by taking her panties with a full house to her pair of eights. She had a pronounced tan line on her perky little ass, his win translating to her throwing him on the couch to suck him off with a great deal of energy and enthusiasm, her eye contact making parts of it work better too. Summary: Father’s Day by director Jacky St. James for Digital Sin had decent casting in most of the scenes, upscale technical values, and four fairly creative scripts going for it, the casts handling the dramatic material at quite well. I know some out there prefer the brighter themes of Jacky’s Romance lines to the forbidden fruit aspects of Tabu Tales but the darker elements give more to work with and remain more interesting over time for some, enhancing replay value for many and strokability for others. This time, the series of vignettes earned a rating of Recommended courtesy of efforts in front and behind the camera. None of the scenes were really clunkers, each offering some replay value and modest strokability while providing the kind of genre action honestly described, all four ladies paired up with the right guys for the specific vignettes they were in. In short, I liked Father’s Day as another appealing outing in the “Tabu Tales” line, Jacky continuing to succeed where others so often fail.
