Audio/Video Quality: The Ass Party was presented in the usual 1.78:1 ratio anamorphic widescreen (most scenes) color as shot by director Joey Silvera for Evil Angel. Thanks in large part to decent lighting and a relatively limited amount of moving around with the camera, there was little grain or video noise in the movie, few compression artifacts to be seen. The composition of the shots was usually flattering to the women although much of that would still be an artistic call on my part so I can safely say that the overall visual aspects of the movie were decent. Like many of the director's at Evil Angel, Joey seems to prefer concentrating on capturing the raw energy over giving the viewer technical perfection, the end results sometimes varying a bit but not nearly as much as some of his previous releases. The 2.0 Dolby Digital audio (at 192 Kbps) was presented in the usual stereo English but there wasn't any significant dynamic range or separation between the channels. The voices were sometimes hollow but like seeing the occasional shadow in the movie, this is to be expected in order to preserve the nearly realistic manner in which the scenes took place.

Body of Review: Joey Silvera is a talented director at Evil Angel known for his successful transition from performer to director. His latest release coming in for review is called The Ass Party, the title focusing on the anal exploits of such appealing ladies as Kristina Rose, Remy LaCroix, Asa Akira, and Krissy Lynn. I know that Joey had a lot of buzz for the project thanks to a party in honor of the release but going into it, I wondered what would set it apart from the plethora of ass pounding titles populating the market already, the cast admittedly a step up from most such endeavors. That said, seeing Remy LaCroix’s sweet ass featured on the front cover did not hurt the appeal in the slightest, the perky anal princess leaving porn after shooting some decidedly heated titles earlier this year. With five scenes lasting four and a half hours along with over an hour of BTS footage, there was a lot of potential fuck for the buck as far as I was concerned, the quality to be decided upon watching the double disc set.

Summary: The Ass Party by director Joey Silvera for Evil Angel was a pleasant, if somewhat uneven, anal fuck flick. My biggest point of contention was the reliance on marginal males in so many of the scenes, few of them able to bring out the best in the ladies as far as I was concerned. The resulting lack of chemistry and modest heat in some of the scenes led to me rating the double disc project as a still-healthy Recommended but I wondered if it could have been even better given the circumstances. My favorite scene was the last one with Kristina Rose and Remy LaCroix but Krissy Lynn looked as fuckable as ever, Asa far better in other projects, and the youth contingent all coming in as decent but in need of a tune up much of the time. In short, The Ass Party had substantial amounts of anal fuck for the buck that might work better for those who have not seen some of these gals throwing themselves into better projects but overall it was not a bad set of ass boning scenes and extras so check it out for yourselves.
