Extra's: The best extra by most standards would be the bonus sex scene from The Devinn Lane Show #4 starring Felicia Fox, Rhiannon Bray, Kyle Stone, and Steve Hatcher. It was set inside a boxing ring and only lasted about 11.5 minutes but it was fun to watch. I also liked the 30 minute long Behind the Scenes feature by Mark Stone for all the fun it offered (the cast seemed to be having a great time as they kid around) but it also had the deleted sex scene between Nicole Sheridan and Voodoo by the pool. There was a short (5 minute long) interview with the lovely and talented Stormy Daniels, a 4.5 minute interview with hotty Felicia Fox, a number of photogalleries and star statistics, four promotional reels, DVD ROM materials like Wicked Awards and Nominations, company profile, casino game, and desktops, a DVD catalog, some spam, and trailers to shows like Eternity, Camp Cuddly Pines, Secrets of the Velvet Rings, Road Trixxx 3, and others.

Audio/Video Quality: Private Eyes was presented in the usual non-anamorphic widescreen color with an aspect ratio of 1.85:1. It looked pretty good as a video during some of the non-sex parts but the sex scenes seemed to be saddled with an over abundant use of darker lighting and an almost airbrushed look that didn't work as well for me as it might for someone wanting a more erotic look to their porn. There was some grain and video noise thanks to the lighting but it was a decent looking feature for the smaller budget I believe it had (and there were no compression artifacts observed). The audio was presented in a 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround English with a 2.0 DD German and Spanish track as alternatives. These tracks were solely used during the talking parts as the sex scenes remained in English. Like most lower end Wicked Pictures movies, the audio enhancement seemed added in to a monaural vocal track with generic music; sporting little separation or dynamic range, but it still sounded better than many other smaller companies' works.

Body of Review: Stormy Daniels is the lovely contract star/director at Wicked Pictures known for her developing skills both in front of, and behind, the camera. Most of her movies as director have been small, intimate slices of life about women characters caught behind the glass ceiling that manage to break free by using their own talents in what I presume is Stormy projecting her own desire to get the bigger projects at Wicked Pictures (where former boyfriend Brad Armstrong is the lead director followed in a pecking order by Jonathan Morgan and others). Her movie being reviewed today is Private Eyes, starring the very sexy Felicia Fox as private eye Natalie Baker. The basis for the tale is how Natalie went from investigating missing pet cases to running the firm all due to her own feminine wiles. Personally, I think Felicia was perfect for the role thanks to her strong sexuality, acting ability, and ability to pull off the role as well as any of the contract gals at Wicked (which begets the question; accepting that Stormy didn't want to direct AND star in the role, why not use one of the other contract gals?) and I'm glad to see she got some nice exposure here but I'd like to see her featured in a role with more substance; not one written in a day and a half (as Stormy claimed in the extras section). That said, here's a quick look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that condoms were used and they didn't matter to this reviewer:

Scene One: Felicia Fox, the 20-something hotty featured on the front DVD cover, was up first with muscular Kris Knight in a bedroom scene. Rather than focus on the ever-popular circus act sex like most gonzo products seem to go for, the two engaged in a very real bout of oral and vaginal enjoyment together. Kris spent his time pleasing her orally and using a vibrator while she gyrated and softly moaned. Her curvy and near perfect body was very easy on the eyes (you can see a few recent pictures of her in my 2006 AEE Show article and accompanying photo essay) but her sexual skills enhanced it all the more. Starting with one of her awesome blowjobs, and she's best known for her skillful ability to slob a knob like a superstar, and then moving on to an energetic romp in the sack as she rode his shaft energetically and enthusiastically. I liked the way she'd grind on his dick while bouncing on it and neither position (reverse cowgirl or spooning) slowed her down. It ended when he rubbed out a load onto her bush and was a great way to sexually start the movie.

Scene Two: Trina Michaels, a busty blonde wearing a red top and black leather skirt, was up next with Tee Reel as he picked her up among a group of hookers on the side of a street at night. Trina might not be quite as physically appealing at Felicia but she's always been a gal willing to push her limits to get a guy off. Starting with a decent, if mechanical, blowjob beside his car, she worked him over orally using some gag action before they bumped uglies on and around the car. It started with vaginal and went on to a little bit of anal after which he popped his moderate load into her eye. It wasn't a bad scene but aside from the extra tricks employed (I can give or take anal in a porno for the most part), it was kind of flat.

Scene Three: Charmane Star, a little Asian cutie, was all made up as a femme fatale at the sushi restaurant with studly Manuel Ferrara as her partner. Her oral skills were solid although they weren't allowed to spend enough time with them before he wrapped his rascal for a power stroke vaginal boning. He did most of the work here and that limited the heat although once properly warmed up she started riding with a modicum of energy (doing some PTM in the process). He sheathed his pecker once more (I don't recall ever seeing a scene where the guy put on a condom twice) and banged away some more but she let him do the work again, including rubbing out his load to her mouth.

Scene Four: Katie Morgan, a real cutie with long blonde hair, implants, and an otherwise appealing body, was up next in a bedroom with Mr. Pete. I liked her green top and blue jean skirt (of course I liked them more on the floor) as they helped make her look more natural but his driving passion on her crotch and the rest of her body also enhanced the scene. By this point in the movie, this was the second most sexually interesting scene (after the opener) with her energetically blowing him as though she wanted to, teasing all the way. She was pretty active when being porked but I wish she had been given more positions to enjoy before he jerked out his load.

Scene Five: Nicole Sheridan, one of my favorite performers for a long time now, played a bitchy rich woman taking a bath in a large tub full of soap suds when Felicia Fox, playing a maid (in a funny manner since she didn't know enough Spanish to fake her role), was called on to rub her body dry. This led to some heated lesbian action with Nicole sporting a neon pink strap on dildo and Felicia expected to orally service it on her knees. Felicia did a good job by getting it all wet and nasty when Nicole switched gears and started sucking her nipples. This led to Felicia bending over to let Nicole take her pussy from behind after which they both went down on each other in turn. I thought both gals had a lot of fun with the scene and the replay value was pretty high, if not as high as the first scene.

Scene Six: Felicia Fox, dressed in a black outfit that really enhanced her looks, was up last with Eric Masterson in the office. His bleached hair was distracting but the couple had some chemistry together as they performed on the desk. He went down on her first and she returned the favor soon after. She kept her stockings and shoes on as he banged her from behind but they did a few more positions before he jerked off onto her abdomen. The scene worked thanks to her looks more than anything but like all of the other scenes, it was too short and the characters seemed somewhat hampered in terms of what they could do.

Summary: Private Eyes worked well as a limited showcase for the lovely Felicia Fox. In my opinion, she's one of the most desirable performers in porn today thanks to her luck with the genetic lottery (great looking body, appealing face, full lips, and the entire package), her sexual skill (especially oral), and her overall positive attitude that enhances every scene she appears in. Unlike gals who routinely flake or cause lots of headaches for their antics, she seems to be focused on whatever she's doing at a given time and that works for me. Heck, at the recent 2006 AEE Show, I got the impression that she was the first performer in the building and the last to leave; making everyone around her a little happier by her mere presence (especially on Sunday). It's just a shame that the rest of the movie wasn't as appealing as this hotty, limited by budget and other constraints related to the nature of the game (Stormy's talented but she has a long way to go before she reaches her full potential as a director). Still, if you watch this flick with a gal pal, you'll probably find it works better than average at pleasing her, despite minor technical limitations. While fans of Felicia Fox will want to pick up their own copy of the movie, the rest of you will probably think of it as worthy of a Rent It. Still, I thought Felicia and Stormy made a good team and hope to see them work together again really soon.
