Audio/Video Quality: The picture was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color that has been the standard in porn since before most of you were legally allowed to watch the genre. The picture had some of the flaws that Volume 4 had; grain, weaker than average lighting, and some color over-saturation. Some of this is due to artistic license but I prefer clearly observable scenes so it lost points with me. I didn't see any compression artifacts but there were several instances of lens flare, something I'd rather not see. The audio was presented in the usual stereo English with little, if any, separation. I noticed Jimmy giving orders in the background more than once (watching at regular speed sometimes means catching those types of flaws), another factor that left me less than happy.

Body of Review: Those who are aware of Anarchy Films will probably know they make some decent releases in the gonzo field. They might also be aware of a series that had some good moments, Pop That Cherry. My reviews of Volume 4 and
Volume 3 proved that the series has always been very close to good, but always fell short of the mark. In the latest release, Pop That Cherry #5, famous director Jimmy D, formally takes the reins (he was at least partially responsible for some of the earlier volumes too) and does about as good as the lesser talents that were in charge before him. The show has a slight premise about youthful gals having sex with guys under goofy circumstances, with precious little acting going on, in favor of simple sex. While I wish Jimmy could have improved the lighting and other technical aspects, the sex was usually pretty good so read on if this sounds like something you'd like to check out:

Scene One: Angela, a perky blond in her first scene (she was the cutey on the front DVD cover), was acting like a bitch on a couch so John took her hint and started macking out on her. I liked that she was falling out of her clothes when she blew him almost as much as her all-natural body. He went down on her as well and soon enough, they got down to business by screwing in several positions. She was vocal during the action and his massive muscles seemed to turn her on a bit. It ended when he jerked his load onto her young face.

Scene Two: Nikki, a brunette with a youthful body and way too much makeup, had a scene with one of the guys (I think it was Chris), on a couch. She blew him, showing little expertise although an abundance of playfulness, and he went down on her before plugging away at her from behind. He gave her a few playful swats and they switched positions several times before her jerked off on her face. I didn't like hearing Jimmy's instructions for her (at the end) but slip-ups do occur. This was credited as Nikki's first scene too.

Scene Three: Alexis, a lean brunette with pigtails, walked in on Tony as he jerked off in bed. She got in on the act and started helping him out, first with her hand and then with her mouth. The gal knew how to suck dick, doing a great job, which he returned in spades (although he wasn't as talented). They screwed, initially in doggy style, and then in a few other positions, with her taking it more than enjoying it, before his semen were jerked onto her lovely face.

Scene Four: Capri, a gal that looked a lot like Gia Paloma (although with a snaggle-toothed smile), and Johnny, had a scene on a couch. They started off by providing director Jimmy with "intellectual porn" as he called it in the BTS feature, having a bit of an skit where he convinced her to "lay it down a bit harder" so he'd give up on prostitutes. She inspected his family jewels, going so far as to give them the taste test (a blowjob), before he returned the favor to her. They then screwed in a bunch of positions, never really displaying any chemistry although perhaps some energy in the anal portion of the sex, and it also finished with a healthy dose of semen on the face.

Scene Five: Sally, a young looking gal with a lean body and all natural breasts, took care of Brett after he had a long day at work. They were on a couch and she convinced him to tell her his troubles, after which, she gave him a swell hummer. I liked how she kept eye contact with him and used both her mouth and hands to get him excited. He went down on her, licking her from behind and spanking her a bit, before he energetically tapped her in a few positions. While she could tone up a bit, she looked like someone that was in her late teens, a factor many of you consider in your viewing habits. His load was the biggest of the bunch for those keeping track.

Summary: I had mixed feelings about this one. On the one hand, the technical values were lacking, and that's surprising considering Jimmy's past releases for other companies. Heck, he's so talented, even an anti-porn campaign recruited him to film a commercial. On the other hand, most of the women were at least reasonably attractive and fit the parts they were cast in. So rating this, aside from my long devotion to Jimmy as a friend, is difficult. I'm going to err on the side of caution and rate it as a Rent It. I hope the technical matters can be ironed out in the future and this wasn't a bad movie, just not what it could have been.
