Extra's: As with most Sin City/Mayhem releases, there were numerous extras on hand to enjoy but the catch this time was in how short they were. The DVD started off with a set of trailers on the first screen and in the extras section itself, started with a short, nearly two minute montage from the deleted footage. This led to a short Behind the Scenes feature by Johnny Thrust (lasting a few minutes), a set of five interviews with the gals that lasted about three minutes each, a cumshot recap from the scenes, and three photogalleries. There was also a true double sided DVD cover but the total extras package was pretty shallow in most ways (still, it was nice to see some honesty regarding the "squirting" phenomenon where the truth came out).

Audio/Video Quality: POV Squirt Alert #3 was presented in the same 1.33:1 ratio full frame color that it was shot in by director Jim Powers for distribution by Mayhem, a subsidiary of Sin City. The advertised camera angle of the title was point of view (POV) but the first thing I noticed was that this was not consistently applied as with other POV movies made elsewhere. I'm not a fanatic about POV although I can see why people like it so much (it also a viewer to fantasize that they're having sex with the gal in the scene) but if a title is advertising POV; it should maintain POV angles the entire time in my book. Otherwise, the flesh tones were accurate, the lighting decent, and the amount of grain minimal in most scenes. There were a couple that didn't look as good as the rest but even they weren't bad to watch. The audio was presented in the usual 2.0 Dolby Digital stereo but there was no separation between the channels and in some of the extras, you could barely hear the ladies. In general then, the audio was a mixed bad not up to Jim's usual standards.

Body of Review: Jim Powers has been involved in making porn for years with different people. This being the case, he has shown a number of innovative mannerisms that set him slightly apart from some of his peers; some of which work better than others. His latest work is POV Squirt Alert #3 for Mayhem, a set of five gonzo vignettes where he pretends to be the guy boinking the ladies, holding the camera in a POV fashion most of the time. The other gimmick is that the ladies are supposed to squirt in their scenes. Regardless of what you've heard by talented shucksters in the porn marketing business, "squirting" is about as real as a hooker's concern about you paying your rent on time; while a tiny bit of fluid could actually appear, there is zero medical documentation for the gushers we tend to see caught on camera (an avalanche of which appeared shortly after the first attempts sold well enough to make the radar of the other companies). Some of the time, the gals are drinking excessive amounts of water and pissing while most of the time the directors simply have the gals push water into their vaginas to excrete out at the designated time (I've spoken to many of them in person about it and the BTS features sometimes catch it like they did here). Regardless of your fantasies about squirting though, a solid sex scene is still wondrous to behold and a few of the scenes here approached that level so forget about the faked squirting and enjoy the scenes as much as possible. Here's a breakdown of those scenes by female (the guys weren't credited and I'm not busting my hump for a lazy company) and their actions, noting that no condoms were used:

Scene One: Sierra Sinn, a skinny, almost waifish, looking gal with brown hair and skimpy lingerie, was up first. Jim did the talking as the scenario called for him to pretend he was her boyfriend that stood her up the night before. Claiming to have learned a new trick, she masturbated to the point where she acted turned on and then gave her "squirt". It was as faked as could be but this is porn and suckers who believe in squirting are also the type that believes it when the government knocks on their door claiming to be there to "help" them. Scene Three: Michelle B., in the neon pink fishnet outfit she wore on the front DVD cover, was up next as she paraded outside by a ravine for the camera. The scenario had her twist her ankle and play hurt. The stunt cock was deployed yet again, with Michelle worried that her agent (superstar agent Derik) would be upset if he knew she had to cancel but did him for free. She's a talented performer so if anything, this scene was the most appealing based on looks and quality of action.

Summary: POV Squirt Alert #3 had a couple of decent scenes and a number of weaker ones, all revolving around (though not slaved to) the POV camera angle and squirting. The limitations on the technical qualities and limited extras combined with the lack of significant fun in three scenes lowered my initial rating of this one to a Rent It although fans of the advertised action and camera angle may rate it higher if they skip the extras section and have low standards. Jim has made some of the best porn legally available in the USA so I hold him to a high standard in his movies but this was a mediocre attempt most of the time and gets rated as such. In all though, fans of the cast could do worse so check it out.
