The second one hundred and ninth entry in Hustler's Barely Legal series is a good one, combining hot action with some welcome fresh faced talent. This latest entry does absolutely nothing to break the mold and delivers pretty much exactly what you'd expect an entry in this series to deliver at this point in the game but it does it well and maintains the tradition of pervy excellence that has made this the longest running video series if Hustler history and one of the longest running series in adult video history period. Unlike most of the entries in the line which contain five scenes, this latest one has an even half a dozen, so without further ado, let's get down to it:

Scene One - Danica Dillan: A sexy, lithe brunette with a nice tattoo running up her left hand side, Danica is washing her car when we meet her, but not for long - the novelty of that would ware off fairly soon, I'd imagine. Barely Legal 109 looks good in this 1.78.1 widescreen transfer save for the fact that some of it appears to have been shot with some intentional softness in mind - you'll notice this in the outdoor girl/girl scene. This reduces detail in some shots. There aren't any issues at all with compression artifacts or edge enhancement while color reproduction looks quite natural. Eagle-eyed viewers may spot just a hint of shimmer here and there but you do have to be looking for it to notice it. All in all, this disc offers up a pretty decent transfer.

The sole audio track on this DVD release is a Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo Surround Sound mix in English. Dialogue stays clean and clear throughout and the levels are all properly balanced. The score sounds good and there aren't any problems with background hiss or distortion at all. The audio here won't blow you away but it certainly won't disappoint you either.

The Barley Legal: How It All Began (5:00) featurette that Hustler has been tossing onto discs in this line for the better part of a year now is included alongside motion menus, trailers, a still gallery, an advertisement for Hustler Hollywood, contact info, and scene selection round out the supplements on this release - which is pretty disappointing, as they're all basically fluff pieces and advertisements.

Hustler isn't reinventing the wheel here, in fact Barely Legal 109 is ridiculously formulaic, changing things up only a little bit with the inclusion of some anal and a nice solo scene from Ms. Rios. That said, there's something to be said for dependability and the Barely Legal series has definitely got that going for it. Yes, we know what to expect, but that's not a bad thing. The girls are all naturally pretty and definitely game for fucking, and the camera work is pretty decent too. The extras suck this time around, but the transfer is okay. There are probably better entries in the line to start with but those who know what to expect won't be disappointed. Recommended.
